Belief in going to school
In recent years, the Ninh Binh Department of Education and Training has directed educational institutions to strictly implement the work of ensuring school safety, from physical facilities to psychological and social factors. Schools have reviewed the system of classrooms, equipment, playgrounds, and closely coordinated with local authorities and police to prevent social evils, school violence and accidents.
At Yen Xa Primary School (Y Yen, Ninh Binh), the school campus is regularly renovated, equipped with signs, cameras, and a fire prevention system. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tu - Principal of the school, shared: "We consider safety to be a prerequisite. In addition to investing in facilities, the school coordinates with the police and health sector to organize training on drowning prevention, traffic safety, and emergency handling skills for students. The students are very excited to both study and practice."
Not only in primary schools, many secondary and high schools also organize fire drills, evacuation drills in case of simulated earthquakes, or electrical incidents. Such experiential learning sessions help students practice coping skills and develop a spirit of solidarity and responsibility towards the group.
At the same time, life skills education and self-protection skills are integrated into the main curriculum and extracurricular activities. Ms. Dang Thi Thanh Minh - teacher at Yen Binh Primary School (Vu Duong, Ninh Binh ), said: "During class activities or experiential activities, we create hypothetical situations for students to discuss how to behave. This helps them control their emotions and resolve conflicts through dialogue instead of violence."
Thanks to this comprehensive attention, over the years, schools in Ninh Binh have had almost no school violence. Students can study and play in a safe, friendly space - an important foundation for nurturing the soul and developing personality.

Spreading human values
Not only ensuring safety, Ninh Binh Education sector also attaches special importance to building a humane environment, where students can listen, share and develop their personal values. Schools focus on training cultural behavior, building friendly relationships between teachers and students, and students with each other.
At Tran Bich San Secondary School (Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh), during recess, students bustle around the “Friendly Reading Corner”. Le Thao Nhi, a student in class 8A, excitedly said: “I like reading comics and skill books the most. School has become a place to learn how to read and share and love.”
Humanitarian activities such as “Book Reading Day”, “Joining hands for the poor to overcome difficulties”, “Spring of love” have become annual features. Many students volunteer to donate school supplies, clothes, and books to students in difficult circumstances. At Yen Xa Primary School (Y Yen, Nam Dinh), the “Love Rice Jar” movement has been maintained for many years, contributing to supporting boarding meals for children in special circumstances.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Be, a parent whose child is in grade 5 at Yen Chinh Primary School (Phong Doanh, Ninh Binh), shared: “We feel secure when our child goes to school. He is cared for by teachers, loved by friends, not only learning knowledge, but also learning how to behave humanely. The family sees our child growing up every day.”
Teachers are regularly trained in school counseling skills, helping to detect and promptly support students in difficulty. Thanks to that, schools become spiritual support, where students can share and find understanding.

Happy school - long term goal
An important highlight in recent years of the Ninh Binh Education sector is the movement to build “Happy Schools”. Schools encourage the creation of a friendly learning environment, encouraging creativity, while ensuring respect and equality.
Mr. Tran Cong Hoan - Principal of Tong Van Tran High School (Y Yen, Ninh Binh), emphasized: "School happiness starts from the joy of students. We pay attention to listening, encouraging, providing psychological support, helping students become more confident. When students are happy, teachers are motivated, parents are assured and the quality of education is improved."
Many young teachers agree that when studying in a humane environment, students are more confident in expressing their thoughts, developing their personal abilities and becoming more attached to their school. This creates a positive circle, spreading the value of a humane education.
Indispensable in this journey is the companionship of family and society. Parents' representatives at many schools participate in monitoring school gate safety and supporting extracurricular activities. Mr. Nguyen Trung Anh - parent of a student at Tran Te Xuong Primary School (Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh), said: "A safe and humane environment is only truly sustainable when there is close coordination between family - school - society. Each side plays its role well, then children will be protected and educated comprehensively."
Many businesses and social organizations also actively support the construction of libraries, playgrounds, and scholarships for poor students. This is the spread of humanitarian spirit, turning each school in Ninh Binh into a solid support for the younger generation.
Looking to the future, Ninh Binh Education sector continues to promote the "Happy School" movement, replicate humanistic education models, and at the same time strengthen teacher training in psychological counseling skills.
Along with that, the companionship of parents and the community will contribute to building a friendly, safe and sustainable school. Because creating a safe and humane school is not only the responsibility of the education sector, but also the desire, belief and aspiration of each family and each generation of students.
Ninh Binh Education Department is persistently building a safe and humane school environment, where students are protected both physically and mentally. Schools not only teach letters, but also nurture the soul, foster life skills and personality. Every day at school is a happy and joyful day - that is the long-term goal that Ninh Binh education is aiming for.
