With more than 200 documents, images and artifacts, the exhibition "Independence Autumn" introduced to the public the aspiration, will of independence, self-reliance, and the strength of great national unity in the process of fighting for national liberation, building and firmly protecting the independence of the Vietnamese Fatherland.
Over the past 80 years, our entire Party, army and people have always maintained independence, sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and socialist orientation, ensuring a peaceful , stable and secure environment for the cause of national renewal and development, enhancing Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena. From now on, our country is ready to enter a new era: an era of national development, prosperity and well-being.

The thematic exhibition consists of 2 parts: Part I - Ba Dinh shines in Autumn, with documentary images of Vietnam when it was invaded by French colonialists, patriotic movements and the journey to find a way to save the country of the young patriot Nguyen Tat Thanh (Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh ).
In the process of finding a way to save the country, going through 3 oceans, 4 continents, and interacting with all classes in society, Nguyen Ai Quoc approached Marxism-Leninism and from there he actively prepared politically, ideologically and organizationally to establish the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1930. Carrying out its historic mission, after its establishment, the Party led the People to carry out the revolutionary struggle, leading to the success of the August General Uprising in 1945, taking power into the hands of the People. On September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the first people's democratic state in Southeast Asia.

In part 2, with the theme “From the Autumn of Independence to the Spring of Renovation”, are images and documents expressing the will for independence and the aspiration for freedom of the Vietnamese people after the success of the August Revolution. The entire Party, the entire army and the entire people were determined to maintain the achievements of the revolution. The Party’s wise leadership led Vietnam to overcome all difficulties and hardships, winning many resounding victories in the resistance war against French colonialism (1945 - 1954), the invading American imperialists (1954 - 1975) and the struggle to protect the border and maintain the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
In this section, viewers also look back at the journey of Vietnam focusing on overcoming the consequences of war, gradually building the material foundation of socialism but still facing many difficulties and challenges. At the 6th Congress in 1986, the Party proposed the Doi Moi policy, marking a fundamental and decisive turning point in Vietnam's development.

After nearly 40 years of innovation and development, Vietnam has had strong, comprehensive and profound changes in all areas from politics, society, economy, education, science - technology, to national defense, security and foreign affairs.
The exhibition “Independence Autumn” contributes to arousing the spirit of patriotism, solidarity, self-reliance, national pride and self-esteem of every Vietnamese citizen. The exhibition is held at the Ho Chi Minh Museum from August 25 to December 25, 2025.
