On the occasion of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, the Management Board of Co Loa Relic Site and the People's Committee of Dong Anh Commune organized the exhibition "Co Loa - Tradition and Revolution".
Attending the opening ceremony of the Exhibition were scientists , managers of Institutes, Museums, Monument Management Boards, etc. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Hong Chi - Deputy Director of the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center affirmed that the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 was a brilliant milestone in the history of the nation, opening a new era - the era of national independence associated with socialism.
“Co Loa - the capital of the Au Lac State during the reign of An Duong Vuong is a symbol of the intelligence, bravery and creativity of our ancestors in the early days of nation building.
In that glorious history, the land and people of Co Loa - Dong Anh have made great contributions, accompanying the nation in revolutionary movements, building and defending the Fatherland," Ms. Nguyen Hong Chi emphasized.
With the theme “Co Loa – Tradition and Revolution”, this thematic exhibition introduces to the people and the public many typical and valuable documents and images, clearly reflecting the historical, cultural traditions and patriotism throughout the country's founding period of An Duong Vuong to the heroic years of revolutionary struggle in the Ho Chi Minh era.
Tradition and revolution – two sacred sources have converged, building a resilient Co Loa in history, renewed and developed today.
During the revolutionary period, Co Loa - Dong Anh (Hanoi) and some neighboring areas were one of the ATK (safe zones) of the Central Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party during the secret period of 1941 - 1945.
The Party Committee and people of Co Loa always believed in and followed the Party, were loyal to the Revolution, wholeheartedly nurtured and protected the cadres and agencies of the Central Committee, fought bravely and steadfastly against imperialism and feudalism, and contributed worthily to the victory of the August Revolution in 1945, the resistance war against the US to save the country, and the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
Co Loa today is a continuation of historical development through the ages, becoming a densely populated area with many historical, cultural, artistic relics, archaeological sites, revolutionary resistance relics, unique customs, religions, beliefs, traditional festivals...
All of those tangible and intangible values, along with the ideological and spiritual values that our ancestors left for today's generation, have created a Co Loa relic site with a rich history and culture and rich in types of relics in Vietnam.
The exhibition “Co Loa - Tradition and Revolution” is distilled from the research works of scientists; documents and images collected by the French School of the Far East (EFEO), the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, the Co Loa Relic Site Management Board, the History of the Co Loa Commune Party Committee, individual collectors... to introduce and promote to the public, domestic and international tourists the patriotic tradition of the land of Loa Thanh.
