On October 18, 2024, Yola – Vietnam's leading English training center – held an awards ceremony to honor outstanding students of the third quarter, attracting over 600 students, their families, and teachers.
This is Yola's annual event to celebrate outstanding academic achievements and provide an opportunity for students to share their stories of conquering English, motivating other students on their learning journey.
Inspirational stories from outstanding students.
Nguyen Ho Minh Quan, an 8th-grade student from Hoang Hoa Tham Secondary School in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City, stood out at the event with a score of 146/150 on the KET exam. Initially, Quan only expected 130-140 points, but the result far exceeded his expectations. He said his love for English stems from the interesting and useful nature of the language for the future. Before the exam, Quan wasn't overly worried but focused on the writing section due to its difficulty and diverse topics.
Quân emphasized that choosing a reputable center with quality teachers like Yola was a key factor in developing his passion for English. The encouraging learning environment and the quality of the teachers sparked Quân's enthusiasm. He also frequently communicates in English with foreigners at school and during family trips . "My parents always support and encourage me whenever I get low grades, helping me regain my spirits and continue striving," Quân shared.

Tran Minh Quan, the winner of the "Future Leaders Speak" English public speaking competition, delivered an emotional speech that deeply impressed all attendees. With the message "A future with brilliance awaits," Quan expressed his profound gratitude to his family, who have always been his support and the foundation for building a bright future. "The recognition and encouragement from my family have given me the motivation to pursue my big dreams," Quan said. He also thanked his teachers and the Yola center for providing him with opportunities for self-development, enhancing his self-learning abilities, and exploring the world .

Guests also had the opportunity to hear the inspiring story of Hong Anh, a 12th-grade student from Le Quy Don High School in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City. Passionate about English since kindergarten, Hong Anh was determined to conquer the subject. During last year's summer vacation, while her friends were traveling, Anh focused on preparing for the IELTS exam. She determined this would be her first and last exam, so she dedicated significant time and effort to achieving the highest possible score. Hong Anh achieved an IELTS score of 8.0, with 8.5 in reading and listening, and 7.0 in writing and speaking.
Having decided to return to Yola to prepare for the IELTS exam, Anh said that the friendly environment and the enthusiasm of the teachers helped her improve her grammar skills – her weak point. Anh also regularly reads English books and watches English films, and practices listening through YouTube channels. "Frequent exposure to the language helps me learn better. This is a core element in improving English skills," Anh shared. She believes that achieving an 8.0 IELTS score will open up many opportunities in applying to her dream universities.
Ms. Le Thi Tuyet Lan, Anh's mother, is proud of her daughter's achievements and shared that Anh has been passionate about English since she was little. "At the age of 5, she said she wanted to learn English in addition to Vietnamese. Throughout her studies, Anh has always been proactive in her learning and planned for herself. The family supported her but didn't put pressure on her, allowing her to develop freely."

Yola's holistic training philosophy
At the awards ceremony, a representative from Yola stated that the center continuously improves and enhances the quality of education , helping students develop comprehensively in terms of intellect, life skills, and learning attitude.
The most important criterion that the center always prioritizes is academic skills. The teaching staff always encourages students to express themselves and creates an environment for developing soft skills, but the priority remains on academic achievement and excellence.
The parents of Tran Minh Quan – another Yola student – shared that in this new era, children need to be equipped with many skills to adapt well. "Studying at YOLA gives me peace of mind because my child develops knowledge and confidence without needing constant urging, yet still makes steady progress."
Mr. Pham Anh Khoa, co-founder of Yola Language Center, shared that since the center started operating in 2017 with only 7 students, Yola has trained over 60,000 students, with more than 10,000 students successfully going abroad for studies and the total value of scholarships exceeding 1 billion USD.
To celebrate this awards ceremony, YOLA also organized many exciting activities such as academic minigames and presented gifts to outstanding students. In particular, the T-shirt "imported" from Stanford University (USA) – brought back by YOLA co-founder Ngo Thuy Ngoc Tu – was not only a gift but also a symbol of inspiration for the students, reminding them of the value of continuous effort.
“Yola believes that every achievement resulting from academic efforts deserves recognition and encouragement, and the annual awards ceremony is a special occasion to inspire the next generation of students,” a representative from the center said.
Yola Language Center's special scholarship program is currently underway, offering scholarships up to 25% along with many attractive gifts, making it a great opportunity for new students. See more at: https://yola.vn/.
