Ha Long University rewards 15-30 million VND to candidates with high scores

On July 29, Ha Long University organized the first graduation examination for university students of the 2019-2023 academic year; college students of the 2020-2023 academic year and gifted secondary school students. This time, a total of 804 people were considered for graduation; of which 783 were on time, 21 were considered for additional graduation from previous courses.

The Graduation Council of Ha Long University recognized 619/804 students as eligible to graduate in the review session on July 18 (reaching a rate of 77%).

Specifically, for the university system, 563/743 students are eligible to graduate, including 9 excellent students, 74 good students, 381 good students, and 99 average students. For the college system, 52/57 students are eligible to graduate, including 10 good students, and 43 average students.

According to the school's statistics, among the 11 university majors with students graduating in 2023, there are 5 majors with a high graduation rate of 80% or more, including: computer science , Chinese language, tourism and travel services management, Korean language, English language.

Notably, Ha Long University is maintaining entrance scholarships for students with high scores. Specifically, a reward of 15 million VND is given to candidates who pass the entrance exam with 21 to under 24 points; a reward of 20 million VND is given to candidates with 24 to under 27 points; candidates with over 27 points are awarded 30 million VND; candidates who win national prizes are awarded 50 million VND.

Over the years, policies dedicated to Ha Long University have supported more than 5,000 students.

Soon build Ha Long University to become a digital university

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, said that in the strategy of developing high-quality human resources associated with rapidly increasing the scale and improving the quality of the province's population, Ha Long University is determined to develop according to the university urban model, expanding cooperation links, becoming a center for attracting training and developing high-quality human resources in the northern region.

The Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee also requested the school to strive to have 25% of lecturers with doctoral degrees by 2025; ensure that after 2025, the scale of training systems will reach 10,000 students; promote digital transformation, and soon build Ha Long University into a digital university.

Ha Long University was established on October 13, 2014 under Decision No. 1869/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on the basis of two colleges: Quang Ninh Pedagogical College and Ha Long College of Culture, Arts and Tourism. After 9 years of establishment, Ha Long University has trained and graduated 4 courses of full-time university students and 9 courses of college and intermediate students. The school focuses on training in 6 main fields including foreign languages; tourism, services; economics ; engineering, technology; education, society and humanities; arts.

Ha Long University has a total of 7,500 students, of which university students account for over 90%. In the 2022-2023 school year, the school enrolled nearly 2,000 students, aiming to train 10,000 students by 2030.
