Thanh Hoa Traffic Police Department Chief explains going to school at age 56

The incident of Colonel Le Van Chien (56 years old) - Head of Thanh Hoa Traffic Police Department suddenly going to study at the Police Academy surprised many people when he was about to retire. Mr. Chien admitted that he was studying for a second degree at the People's Police Academy.

According to Mr. Chien's explanation, he has a Bachelor of Law degree since 1996 and a Master of Political Theory. However, according to regulations from May 2025, the output standard of leaders must go through the Security Academy or the Police Academy.

According to industry regulations, if I am not eligible for age increase, I will retire in April 2025. If I am eligible for age increase, I will retire in January 2028, so I have to go to school ,” Mr. Chien shared.

According to Mr. Chien, he is currently studying in the second semester of the People's Police Academy, part-time, and will graduate in November 2024.

Previously, in May 2019, the Minister of Public Security decided to appoint Colonel Le Van Chien, former Head of the Waterway Police Department, as Head of the Thanh Hoa Traffic Police Department.
