The working group from Military Region 4 visited and inspected the Border Guard Command of Thanh Hoa province.
At the meeting, Colonel Do Ngoc Vinh, Provincial Party Committee member and Commander of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Command, presented a brief report on the unit's situation, the area of operation, and some of the unit's political tasks to the delegation.
Accordingly, in the first six months of 2025, especially after one month of implementing the Ministry of National Defense 's decision on the reorganization of local military agencies, the Party Committee and Command of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command thoroughly implemented the resolutions, directives, and orders of higher authorities. They strictly maintained the command duty, duty officer, and combat readiness duty regimes, monitoring and handling situations to contribute to maintaining security and social order along the province's two border lines.
In particular, during the recent Typhoon No. 3, the Party Committee and the Command of the Provincial Border Guard directed units on both fronts to supplement their disaster prevention and control plans, conduct search and rescue operations, coordinate with local authorities to implement typhoon response plans, call on ships and boats, prevent flash floods and landslides, and evacuate people from dangerous areas.
The Provincial Border Guard Command deployed 928 officers and soldiers, 46 boats, and 70 vehicles to participate in arranging 756 boats, securing 389 boats, and assisting in reinforcing 108 houses. Along the land border, units and localities have propagated and mobilized the relocation of 304 households/1,713 people to safe locations.
The Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command welcomed the Commander of Military Region 4 and his delegation.
After inspecting and assessing the situation, Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh, Commander of Military Region 4, commended and highly appreciated the results of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command's activities in the past period.
Looking ahead, the comrade requested the Command Board to proactively develop thorough combat readiness plans and strategies, strictly maintain command duty, duty officer, and combat readiness duty regimes, strengthen training in on-site combat plans, combat plans for protecting the area, and plans for mobilizing forces and equipment, especially being ready to mobilize to participate in disaster prevention and control, and rescue operations when situations arise. They should effectively carry out the tasks of managing and protecting border sovereignty and security, controlling immigration and emigration, and combating crime. They should also participate in consolidating the political foundation, developing the local economy, culture, and society, and advising and supporting local authorities to operate effectively and efficiently.
