From August 1, 2024, total control of motorbikes and scooters in Quang Tri area

From August 1, 2024, the Traffic Police force of Quang Tri Provincial Police will implement a plan to comprehensively control and handle violations of motorbikes and motorbikes circulating in the entire province.

The purpose of the general inspection is to minimize traffic accidents caused by motorcyclists.

The content of control and handling includes: compliance with the Road Traffic Law by drivers of motorbikes and mopeds (including electric motorbikes) when participating in traffic and related documents including: motorbike and moped registration; driving license (for motorbikes and mopeds with a cylinder capacity of 50 ^cm3 or more)...

It is known that in the first 6 months of 2024, there were 113 traffic accidents in the whole province, killing 50 people and injuring 97 people (an increase of 20 cases, 13 deaths, and 22 injuries compared to the same period in 2023).

The main causes of accidents are due to motorcyclists driving in the wrong lane, not paying attention when changing direction, not controlling their speed, and having limited skills in handling traffic situations. Most of the people who cause accidents are teenagers, ethnic minorities, and the elderly.
