From August 1st, 2024, the Traffic Police force of Quang Tri Provincial Police will implement a comprehensive plan to inspect and handle violations by motorcycles and mopeds circulating throughout the province.
The purpose of this comprehensive inspection is to minimize traffic accidents caused by motorcyclists and scooter riders.

The scope of control and enforcement includes: compliance with the Road Traffic Law by drivers of motorcycles and mopeds (including electric motorcycles) when participating in traffic, and related documents including: motorcycle and moped registration certificate; driver's license (for motorcycles and mopeds with a cylinder capacity of 50 cm³ or more)...
Reportedly, in the first six months of 2024, the entire province experienced 113 traffic accidents, resulting in 50 deaths and 97 injuries (an increase of 20 accidents, 13 deaths, and 22 injuries compared to the same period in 2023).
The main causes of accidents are primarily due to motorcyclists and scooter riders not staying in their lanes, changing direction without paying attention, failing to control their speed, and lacking the necessary skills to handle situations while driving. The majority of those involved in accidents are teenagers, ethnic minorities, and the elderly.
