The Vietnam U23 team will play the final match of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifying round against Yemen U23 at 7:00 p.m. on September 9 to compete for first place in Group C.
This is a match where coach Kim Sang-sik and his team have two options because they are ranked above U.23 Yemen, so a draw will still get them a ticket to continue while their opponent must win.
But coach Kim Sang-sik has another advantage that makes U.23 Yemen worried, which is that all the positions on the attack line can score.
Will it be Thanh Nhan's turn?

In the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers at Viet Tri Stadium, new names such as Ngoc My, Le Viktor, and Van Thuan all scored their first goals for the Vietnam U23 team under coach Kim Sang-sik.
This has extended the list of strikers of the Vietnam U.23 team who have scored in official tournaments under Mr. Kim. If including the 2025 Southeast Asian U.23 tournament, there are also Dinh Bac (2 goals), Van Khang, and Cong Phuong.
Looking more broadly, in the two official tournaments when coach Kim Sang-sik personally led, each match the U.23 Vietnam team introduced a different hero, making it very difficult for opponents to defend.
In fact, up to now, the only striker of the U.23 Vietnam team has not scored a goal yet. With the current diverse scoring momentum, will this signal that the PVD-CAND striker will be on the scoreboard, helping the U.23 Vietnam team defeat U.23 Yemen to participate in the U.23 Asian Finals in Saudi Arabia in January 2026?
