Some related developments

Ukraine does not want to prolong the conflict . Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a plan to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict will be presented in the next few months and that Kiev is not really looking to prolong the hostilities in the coming years.

Ukraine does not want to prolong the war. We have many wounded and dead on the battlefield. We must come up with a settlement plan within a few months ,” Mr. Zelensky said.

Ukraine's president made a rare admission of the extent of damage and casualties in the two-and-a-half-year conflict, but he did not provide specific figures.

Russia warns of risk of global conflict . Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has warned of a global conflict, after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for former Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff of the Russian army Valery Gerasimov.

" Russia, like other major countries in the world such as the United States, China and India, is not a party to the ICC. It makes no sense to impose an international treaty to which Moscow is not a party. Besides, not recognizing immunity and issuing an illegal arrest decision can be considered a declaration of war. This move can have very serious consequences, even leading to a global conflict ," Medvedev said.

Meanwhile, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Russia does not recognize the ICC's arrest warrant and considers it a Western tactic to undermine Russia's reputation.

" We do not recognize the jurisdiction of this court. We do not see any reason to cooperate ," Mr. Peskov stressed.

According to the General Staff, fighting for control of the city of Vovchansk (Kharkiv region) is still ongoing. In Donetsk, Moscow forces have intensified their attacks on the area, especially in Pokrovsk, Toretsk, and Chasiv Yar.

Ukraine signs security agreement with EU . The European Union (EU) and two member states, Lithuania and Estonia, signed security agreements with President Zelensky at the EU summit in Brussels (Belgium) on June 27.

The agreement with the EU sets out the bloc’s commitment to help Ukraine in nine areas of security and defense policy, including arms supplies, military training, defense industry cooperation and mine clearance. The agreement with the EU, along with documents signed with Lithuania and Estonia, is intended to complement similar agreements signed between Ukraine and its allies. Countries that have previously signed security agreements with Ukraine include the United States, Britain, France and Germany.

US Presidential Candidate Criticizes Crimea Attack . Independent US Presidential Candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. has criticized Ukraine's use of ATACMS missiles to attack the Crimean peninsula.

" They used six ATACMS missiles to attack Crimea. The only word I can use to describe this action is 'terrorism.' This was an act against Russian civilians ," said Mr. Kennedy Jr.

According to Mr. Kennedy Jr., President Biden's administration needs to stop "reckless and irresponsible" actions, including allowing Ukraine to use aid weapons to launch attacks inside Russian territory.

The US has "missing" tens of millions of dollars in weapons aid to Ukraine . The US Department of Defense cannot track the $62 million worth of weapons provided to Ukraine. This is the conclusion made by the US Department of Defense Inspector General after assessing whether the US Department of Defense effectively monitored defense aid items for the Ukrainian military.

The watchdog found that a total of $62.2 million worth of equipment was missing as of the end of November 2023. This included night vision devices, Javelin anti-tank missiles and missile launchers.

The US Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) in Ukraine “was unable to determine which of these devices were lost and which were destroyed,” the report also said. The Ukrainian military has not yet provided a clear explanation.
