The 'Digital Citizen' application is being urgently evaluated by Ho Chi Minh City for information security according to the standards of the Ministry of Public Security and is expected to be launched next November.
The above information was given by Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center at the press conference introducing "Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Week", organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association (HCA) on the morning of October 19.
Within the framework of a series of events responding to National Digital Transformation Day October 10, 2024, the Department of Information and Communications coordinated with HCA and related units, organizations and unions to develop a program and organize the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Week 2024 with the theme " Digital technology - New growth driver of Ho Chi Minh City".
Mr. Ly Minh Tuan, Head of Information Technology Department, Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the event of Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Week will take place from October 22-23 to enhance communication and promotion activities, raise awareness, encourage participation in digital transformation of people, government and businesses; at the same time, create opportunities for connection, exchange and cooperation between state management agencies and enterprises providing technology products and solutions, especially new technology products and solutions, applying artificial intelligence (AI) to solve important problems in key areas, as well as serving life and society; contribute to improving the efficiency of digital transformation and innovative startups, promoting the comprehensive digital transformation process, contributing to the sustainable development of the digital economy in the city.
The event includes a Technology Exhibition with 50 booths: displaying achievements, models, and digital platforms from departments, branches, and localities; as well as an area to experience digital transformation solutions and applications in many fields from typical technology enterprises of the city.
The Workshop includes 01 plenary session and 06 thematic workshops, exploiting the potential of solutions and applying technology in solving digital transformation problems in the fields of digital infrastructure, information safety and security, semiconductor technology, sustainable tourism, artificial intelligence (AI), digital office, smart city.
At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center, said that at this event, the Center continued to introduce to people and businesses the digital platforms that Ho Chi Minh City has completed and deployed so far.
Regarding the "Digital Citizen" application, Ho Chi Minh City is expected to launch it next November. Currently, the city is urgently coordinating with relevant parties to assess the level of information security according to the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security, to proceed with connecting with the VNeID application, to ensure information security for people when put into use.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, General Secretary of HCA, said that this year's event will continue to feature digital platforms and many digital transformation applications of the city to serve people such as digital maps, traffic jam warning applications, flood warning applications, etc.
HCA representatives hope that many people will attend this event to feel what the Government and technology have done for the digital transformation of Ho Chi Minh City.
