Valve sends out signals to ignite hope for Half-Life 3

Valve just announced three new hardware products: the Steam Machine, the Steam Controller, and the Steam Frame VR headset.

Together with Steam Deck, Valve's new offerings create a comprehensive solution that allows players to experience games anywhere and on any screen. While Steam's catalog is rich, there's one important title missing: Half-Life 3.

There are more and more signs that Half-Life 3 is coming soon.

Half-Life 3 has been rumored for years, especially after Valve released Half-Life: Alyx , a VR-specific prequel that surprised many. This shows that Half-Life is still alive in Valve's mind, even if the company has shared very little new information about Half-Life 3 .

Valve has expressed its desire to develop more games in the Half-Life series, but no one can be sure about that. However, with the appearance of a series of new hardware from Valve, this seems to be a signal for the realization of Half-Life 3 , especially when news about this version has appeared more and more in the past 1 year.

Game Awards are coming , a chance for Valve

It all started on the 20th anniversary of Half-Life 2 , when Valve released a major update for the game, fixing bugs, restoring content, and improving the graphics quality. Along with that came a documentary and two sequels - important updates for a long-standing title.

Late last year, YouTuber Gabe Follower teased a possible Half-Life 3 release when he said that an internal Valve project called "HLX" had entered beta testing. While this doesn't guarantee the game will be released anytime soon, it does at least indicate that development is underway.

Another interesting tidbit is that actor Michael Shapiro, who voices the character G-Man, sent out New Year's greetings in his signature G-Man voice, a callback to 2020, when he did the same thing before Half-Life: Alyx was announced.

Could Half-Life 3 be the product that accompanies Valve's hardware ambitions? This is entirely reasonable with the Game Awards coming up, a great opportunity for the company to announce a new game.
