Editor's note: In line with the trend of deep international integration, the foreign information of Agriculture and Environment Newspaper is increasingly focused and has achieved many important milestones. On that journey, we are honored to accompany prestigious international partners, organizations and diplomatic agencies with the same goal: promoting sustainable agricultural development, protecting the environment and improving the quality of life of Vietnamese farmers.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of “Tac Dat” newspaper, we would like to respectfully introduce meaningful messages as an affirmation of VAN's increasingly solid position in the international arena.
Dr. Fred Unger - Former Chief Representative of the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI)
“Congratulations to the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper on its 80th anniversary. This is truly an impressive milestone!
ILRI and the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper have started to build a cooperative relationship since 2024. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of ILRI in Hanoi, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The event marked the first time ILRI established a strategic relationship with a press agency in the region and in the world .

Since then, the two sides have maintained close exchanges, opening up many opportunities for cooperation and jointly organizing very meaningful activities. You have accompanied us in organizing the 50th Anniversary of ILRI, the International Scientific Conference on One Health, as well as two training courses for journalists on food safety.
I believe that media and journalism are an indispensable bridge between science, policy and the community. Journalism contributes to shaping perceptions, strengthening evidence, and promoting real changes in consumption, production and ensuring food and nutrition security.
The Agriculture and Environment Newspaper can fully promote its role as an “ambassador” of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. Become a key information channel, build consumer trust, expand market access, and be a voice representing farmers and the business community. Thereby, together contribute to the goal of a profound transformation towards a sustainable agriculture, food and climate system.
ILRI is ready to continue to expand cooperation with the Newspaper in many aspects. One potential area that we can jointly promote is climate change adaptation solutions and sustainable livestock development - which is also the direction ILRI wishes to support the Government of Vietnam and the whole region.
As a researcher, I sincerely thank VAN for this new collaboration that has brought about very positive results. I have high expectations for the strategic cooperation between ILRI and VAN in the future.
Once again, best wishes to Agriculture and Environment Newspaper on the journey ahead!”
Ms. Hilde Solbakken - Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam
First of all, I would like to thank the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper for always accompanying us in the past time, promptly reflecting the activities of the Norwegian Embassy in Vietnam.
With 80 years of history, the team of editors, reporters and staff of the Newspaper possesses a deep knowledge base in the core fields of the Agriculture and Environment sector, and has a large network of readers across the country.

In my opinion, the specialized press plays a particularly important role. The Agriculture and Environment Newspaper has clearly demonstrated its position as the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, contributing to highlighting Vietnam’s regulations, reforms and initiatives of practical significance such as carbon market development, biosafety standards, sustainable aquaculture, waste management or AI monitoring solutions.
Journalists have helped connect policies with production and life practices, supporting people and businesses to understand, adapt and be more proactive in the green transition process. In return, the newspaper has also contributed to promoting transparency and accountability by promptly reflecting the effectiveness of implementing policies and guidelines of competent authorities.
In the context of Vietnam strongly implementing solutions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), implementing the Paris Agreement commitment and the goal of net zero emissions by 2050, the role of a specialized newspaper becomes increasingly important. The press not only closely follows this process but also accompanies in solving core global challenges: reducing emissions, protecting biodiversity and ensuring food security.
80 years of accompanying the development of the Agriculture and Environment sector, I wish the Newspaper to continue to move forward firmly on the new journey, maintaining its role as a reliable and effective media channel. I believe and look forward to an increasingly strong future of cooperation between us!
Mr. Vinod Ahuja - Chief Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Vietnam
I would like to send my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper - a legacy founded by President Ho Chi Minh and named Tac Dat Newspaper.
Throughout Vietnam’s development, the newspaper has contributed to shaping the way society views agricultural production and environmental protection. By providing information based on data, scientific evidence and real-life stories, the newspaper has strengthened policy dialogue, supported transparent decision-making and promoted more sustainable practices across the agri-food system.

In my opinion, effective journalism is one that is able to translate major policies and complex scientific issues into easily understandable and accessible information for farmers, policymakers and the public.
As Vietnam undergoes a dramatic agricultural transformation, communication becomes increasingly important, connecting scientific data and policy-making, while ensuring farmers’ voices are heard.
As Vietnam moves towards a greener and more climate-resilient economy, the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper has more opportunities to assert its important role in connecting science, policy and practice. I look forward to seeing articles that continue to convey the message of innovation, tell stories from the field, and explain policy priorities clearly and practically.
In the next stage of development, the Newspaper can further promote topics such as climate-resilient agriculture, food safety, sustainable value chains, innovation and carbon markets. These are key areas in Vietnam's development roadmap. Extensive communication will help each citizen grasp the trends and proactively prepare for the requirements of the new era.
I believe that Agriculture and Environment Newspaper will continue to be an important piece in Vietnam's inspiring green transformation picture, contributing to promoting action and spreading sustainable values.
Mr. Tran Nam Anh, Country Director of the Australian Center for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) in Vietnam
Warm congratulations to Agriculture and Environment Newspaper on the occasion of its 80th anniversary!
For us, the Newspaper has long been a trusted media partner of ACIAR in Vietnam, helping to connect researchers with farmers, businesses and policy makers. The Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, together with many other Vietnamese media agencies, has played a key role in bringing practical perspectives to our research community.

Another important strength of journalism is its ability to analyze and advocate for policy. In Vietnam, the press plays an active role in conveying the Party and State's guidelines and policies. You are in a unique position to translate knowledge and scientific evidence into messages, effectively reaching policymakers.
For ACIAR, these strengths are extremely meaningful and practical. During more than 30 years of presence and cooperation with partners in Vietnam, we have always appreciated the cooperation with press agencies in general, and with the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper in particular. As the main media agency of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, you help ensure that our research results are quickly and effectively reached farmers, businesses and policy makers.
Recently, at a meeting with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation in Australia led by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, ACIAR reaffirmed its commitment to long-term cooperation with Vietnam in supporting research to promote sustainable agriculture and rural development, including responding to climate change and environmental issues.
We believe that the Journal will continue to grow strongly, dynamically and reliably - sharing knowledge with a diverse audience, from managers to farmers. Together, we can identify the most important research issues, in line with Vietnam's development orientation and priorities, contributing to creating a favorable environment for farmers, businesses, researchers and leaders to cooperate in the spirit of innovation for a modern, efficient and sustainable Vietnamese agriculture.
Wishing Agriculture and Environment Newspaper to continue to grow strongly and dynamically for many decades to come!
