Gold prices have been continuously rising recently. Economic experts point out that gold prices could still increase even more sharply in the future.
Matthew Jones, a precious metals analyst at Solomon Global , stated: “ Gold is considered a safe- haven asset during times of geopolitical instability, war, or economic uncertainty. Investors often flock to gold to protect their assets, leading to increased demand and higher gold prices . ”
On November 21 , Reuters reported that gold prices rose for the fourth consecutive session , reaching their highest level in more than a week due to soaring safe-haven demand amid escalating hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.
David Meger , director of metals trading at High Ridge Futures, said: "This has really been a significant geopolitical factor impacting the gold market over the last few days – the escalating tensions between Ukraine and Russia are perhaps the most notable."
Investors flock to safe-haven assets during global crises, and the price of gold has soared to numerous record highs since the Middle East conflict erupted last October.
Jim Wyckoff, senior market analyst at Kitco Metals, noted: "The next bullish target for gold is to create a close above the solid resistance level at $2,700."
Goldman Sachs ( a multinational investment bank in the United States) has ranked gold among the top commodities to buy in 2025. Goldman Sachs experts recommend that investors buy gold and predict that the price of this precious metal will reach $3,000 per ounce by December 2025 thanks to central bank buybacks and the expectation that the US Federal Reserve will cut interest rates.
Meanwhile, a Reuters poll showed that most economists predict the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates in December, with smaller cuts expected in 2025.
Investors' attention is also focused on several Fed officials expected to speak this week. Expectations of a December rate cut have fallen significantly, with the probability now at 56%, a sharp drop from 82.5% just a week earlier.
