Construction machinery at the western section of Ring Road 3 in late September and early October 2025.
According to Tuoi Tre Online reporters, the construction sites of the XL06 to XL10 beltway 3 in Ho Chi Minh City in the first days of October have become bustling again. Engineers, workers and machines are working in many locations. Some important intersections and bridge piers have been erected, and the roadbed in many sections is being loaded, a clear change compared to 5 months ago.
However, in packages XL09 to XL10, there are still many sections of the foundation that have not been treated, with overgrown grass and intermittent ground. To proceed with the steps of loading, spreading crushed stone and completing the roadbed, a considerable amount of time is needed while the technical opening time is only more than 2 months away.
According to the progress report by the end of September, the total volume of the western packages (XL06 - XL10) has reached more than 58%. Of which, package XL10 is still the slowest package, only reaching more than 41% of the volume value.
In recent field trips and meetings, Ho Chi Minh City leaders have repeatedly asked investors and contractors to maximize resources, organize construction in "3 shifts, 4 teams", increase equipment and workers, and have backup plans in case of bad weather. The city also directed to strengthen inspection and supervision, and promptly handle bottlenecks.
The Traffic Department reported that it has coordinated with contractors and consultants to sign a "100-day sprint" competition agreement to speed up progress.
The units committed to focusing all resources and maintaining continuous construction to basically complete the project before December 19, 2025, according to the direction of the Prime Minister and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
Although the construction site west of Ring Road 3 is busier than 5 months ago, to reach the technical traffic opening milestone in December, contractors still have to "race with all their might" on the construction site.
Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee: "The western section of Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 3 must be technically open to traffic by the end of December"
At the inspection on October 1, the HCM City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board reported that many sections of the route are still in the foundation loading stage, having only completed step 1. Some bridges are expected to be completed on December 19, while some sections may not be completed until January or February 2026.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized: "The eastern elevated section must be operational in December, the western section must be technically open to traffic at the end of December. The Traffic Department and contractors must make maximum efforts to ensure progress."
