For the first time in Vietnam, 108 Military Central Hospital has successfully performed a third-generation partial artificial heart transplant for a patient with end-stage heart failure.
The left ventricular assist device (LVAD - Heart Mate 3) replaces the heart's pumping function, significantly improving the patient's quality of life and life expectancy. The surgery was performed with international professional support, marking an important step forward for Vietnamese medicine.
This success opens up new treatment opportunities for thousands of patients with severe heart failure in the country.
