The delegation worked at Long Xuyen Medical Center, surveyed the actual work of preventing and controlling hand, foot and mouth disease at Minh Tu Kindergarten; surveyed some households in Binh Long 3 hamlet; supervised the admission and treatment work at An Giang General Hospital.
The working group focused on assessing the epidemic prevention and control activities implemented under the direction of the Ministry of Health and professional guidelines; assessing the work of monitoring, detecting and implementing epidemic control interventions; the management of subjects in the expanded immunization program and the rate of vaccine coverage in the community. At the same time, it noted the advantages, difficulties and recommendations of the units.
To proactively prevent and control epidemics in the coming time, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Vu Thuong, Deputy Director of the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, suggested that medical facilities need to adjust their disease prevention and control plans appropriately in the current situation. At the same time, advise local authorities to support resources and maintain the implementation of good models to gradually change people's habits in disease prevention and control.
Along with that, promote communication work continuously and consistently, recommending people to proactively implement disease prevention measures and timely disease detection to have effective response measures.
