The International Conference on Rural Tourism, organized by the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), is scheduled to take place from December 9-11 in Quang Nam province.
In order to enhance the promotion and communication of Vietnam's destination image internationally and boost the development of agricultural tourism - a potential type of tourism based on Vietnam's strengths, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presided over and coordinated with UN Tourism, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province and relevant agencies to organize the International Conference on Rural Tourism in Vietnam.

The conference included the following main activities: the UN Tourism International Conference on Rural Tourism; the second annual meeting of the UN Tourism Best Villages Network; a program of tours and surveys of tourism products in Quang Nam province; and the organization of a cultural and tourism exhibition space.
Approximately 300 delegates are expected to attend the Conference, including: international delegates such as leaders and staff of UN Tourism, tourism ministries and national tourism agencies of UN Tourism member countries, villages in the UN Tourism Best Villages Network, international organizations, experts, etc.
UN Tourism is a United Nations agency dedicated to promoting tourism as a driver of economic growth, holistic development, and environmental sustainability.
Currently, UN Tourism has 160 full members and over 500 associate members, of which Vietnam Tourism has been a full member since 1981, belonging to the East Asia-Pacific Commission.
UN Tourism often organizes many events in member countries, contributing to enhancing the image of destination tourism and attracting the attention of tourism leaders, industry experts, businesses, partners, potential investors, promoting friendly cooperation and exchanges with member countries and associate members.
