Vietnam is praised by a prestigious magazine as a "precious gem" in East Asia.

The Travel ranked Vietnam 7th in the 10 best countries in East Asia that foreign tourists should visit.

“Once scarred by war, Vietnam has now emerged, thriving with a new, youthful vitality. The beauty of its rice paddies and floating markets adds to the appeal of this Asian nation,” the magazine wrote.

The Travel suggests that tourists should not miss Ha Long Bay.

The prestigious magazine emphasized that the stunning natural beauty and heroic history, along with many well-preserved relics and diverse culture, have helped Vietnam become one of the top destinations in Southeast Asia in particular and in the Asian region in general.

The magazine also suggests visitors not to miss Hanoi's pho and explore many tourist destinations, including the limestone islands of Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha Cave and the Mekong River.

In addition to Vietnam, The Travel's list of the 10 most beautiful countries in East Asia also includes Mongolia, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, South Korea, the Philippines and Singapore.
