Dang Tran Phuong Nhi represented the Vietnamese Wushu team in the men's staff performance event. With her impressive performance, the Vietnamese female martial artist impressed the judges.
Phuong Nhi received the highest score and won the first gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation. Second place went to He Jianxin (Hong Kong - China) and third place to Tan Cheong Ming (Malaysia).

Earlier, Phuong Nhi won a silver medal in the men's saber performance event, finishing behind a Chinese martial artist. With one gold and one silver medal, Phuong Nhi has helped Vietnamese Wushu temporarily rank 6th on the medal table at this year's competition.
The 2023 Wushu World Championships took place in the United States from November 17th to 20th. The tournament brought together 500 athletes from 72 countries and territories.
The Vietnamese Wushu team participating in this year's world championship consists of 13 martial artists: Duong Thuy Vi, Nguyen Thi Lan, Phuong Nga, Kieu Trang, Phuong Giang, Thu Thuy, Phuong Nhi, Manh Cuong, Duy Hai, Huy Hoang, Do Dat, Van Tam, and Nong Van Huu.
