Vietnam will fire 21 cannons to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping

(Dan Tri) - Vietnam will perform a 21-gun salute to welcome General Secretary , President Xi Jinping and his wife along with the high-ranking Chinese delegation.
On the afternoon of December 12, at the Presidential Palace, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong presided over a state-level welcoming ceremony for General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, his wife and the high-ranking delegation who are on a state visit to Vietnam. At the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, the Artillery Command will perform a 21-gun salute. Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping will hold talks at the Party Central Committee headquarters. The two sides will then review and listen to an introduction to the signed documents.

Earlier at noon the same day, the Air China plane carrying General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan and a high-ranking Chinese delegation landed at Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi), starting a State visit to Vietnam. The visit took place on December 12-13, at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and his wife, President Vo Van Thuong and his wife. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu said that during this visit, the leaders of the two Parties and countries of Vietnam and China will identify major directions, focuses as well as specific measures to enhance substantive cooperation in various fields, meeting the interests of both sides. At the same time, a large number of documents in many fields can be signed, creating an important foundation for agencies, localities, people and businesses to implement more effective cooperation in the coming time. Mr. Vu emphasized that this event, together with the visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, is expected to continue to create strong motivation and impetus for all levels, sectors, localities and people's organizations to continue to maintain and develop existing relationships. Thereby, building a solid and good social foundation for the development of bilateral relations.
