On the occasion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's participation in the World Climate Action Summit within the framework of the 28th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), on the morning of December 2nd in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh and Ms. Mariam Almheiri, Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the UAE, held a working meeting and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of environment and climate change.
Minister Dang Quoc Khanh congratulated Minister Mariam Almheiri and the people of the United Arab Emirates on the occasion of their 52nd National Day, acknowledging their great achievements in socio -economic development.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh congratulated and highly appreciated the UAE's efforts in hosting the COP28 conference with the participation of heads of state and government from various countries, as well as nearly 70,000 delegates.
The minister affirmed that the effort to successfully organize the COP28 conference demonstrated the UAE's sense of responsibility in addressing global issues such as climate change.
The Minister emphasized that since the COP26 conference, Vietnam has always been active and proactive in implementing its commitments and taking many measures to adapt to climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, thereby contributing to the global effort.
The minister also shared that COP28 is an opportunity for countries to demonstrate solidarity and responsibility in addressing one of humanity's greatest challenges.
Sharing the assessment of Minister Dang Quoc Khanh, Minister Mariam Almheiri stated that at COP28, as Chair, the UAE put forward many important initiatives on responding to climate change and was pleased to learn that Vietnam has supported and actively participated in the initiatives launched by the UAE.
Regarding the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation, Minister Mariam Almeiri emphasized that this will serve as the basis for the two Ministries to implement cooperative activities on responding to climate change and addressing environmental pollution issues.

Minister Dang Quoc Khanh suggested that, in the coming time, both sides will continue to concretize the content of the Memorandum of Understanding into specific actions, with tangible results and clear evaluation criteria to implement the signed agreement, for the benefit of the people of both countries, as well as for the common goal of the world.
The Minister expressed confidence that the signed Memorandum of Understanding would contribute to promoting cooperation on environment and climate change between the two Ministries, creating a foundation for more in-depth and close cooperation activities to maximize the resources of each country in the field of natural resources and environment.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the two Ministries will focus on cooperation in climate change mitigation and adaptation, and biodiversity conservation; other potential areas of cooperation will be studied and implemented in the future.
