Vietjet Air officially signs strategic cooperation agreement with OpenAirlines.

Applying advanced technology

Under an agreement with OpenAirlines, Vietjet Air became the first airline in Vietnam to implement the SkyBreathe® platform, an artificial intelligence (AI) and big data algorithm-based solution designed to analyze flight data and optimize fuel usage. The SkyBreathe® system collects and aggregates information from multiple sources, including aircraft data and fuel reports, with a database of over 21 million flights – considered the largest fuel performance data repository currently available for airlines.

The signing of this cooperation agreement opens a new chapter in the application of advanced technology to the aviation industry. SkyBreathe® uses AI and big data algorithms to analyze flight data, helping Vietjet Air optimize fuel usage.

The system collects and aggregates information from multiple sources, such as aircraft data and fuel reports, into a single platform with data from over 21 million flights.

The SkyBreathe® 360° platform not only helps identify fuel-saving opportunities but also provides specific recommendations for each department, from pilots to flight operations management. This contributes to closer coordination between departments, improves operational efficiency, and simultaneously reduces fuel consumption by up to 2%, resulting in a reduction of over 96,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

Personal support tools for pilots

Vietjet Air will deploy the SkyBreathe® MyFuelCoach application for all pilots. This application provides a personalized tool to help pilots make informed decisions during flight operations, thereby contributing to the development of a fuel-saving culture throughout the airline. The combination of modern technology and real-world user experience promises to deliver outstanding results in optimizing fuel efficiency and reducing negative environmental impact.

Alexandre Feray, CEO of OpenAirlines, speaks at the signing ceremony.
