Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Founding Council of VINASA, has just announced the decision to establish the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Development Committee at the VINASA 2024 Strategy Conference.

With the goal of promoting domestic and global cooperation with many new opportunities related to the semiconductor industry and green economy , VINASA has unanimously chosen the message for its activities in 2024 as: "Green Digital Transformation - Global Connection".

Sharing her strategic direction for promoting the development of the semiconductor industry, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Giang, General Secretary of VINASA, said that Vietnam is emerging as one of the most attractive destinations in the world for the semiconductor industry. The biggest names in the global semiconductor ecosystem have chosen Vietnam to invest in activities ranging from research and development (R&D) to manufacturing and fabrication, such as Nvidia, Intel, Samsung, Apple, Foxconn, Amkor, Synopsys, etc.

The Vietnamese government is also making great efforts in developing policies and preparing resources to orient Vietnam towards becoming one of the world's leading semiconductor industry centers.

In addition, in the context of businesses around the world accelerating the digital transformation race, there is a huge demand for semiconductor chips in all industries and fields.

VINASA recognizes that the semiconductor industry will bring many opportunities for Vietnamese digital technology enterprises in general and VINASA members in particular, especially in the stages of: Design, testing, cooperation with international enterprises. Therefore, VINASA decided to establish the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Development Committee under the Association.

The Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Development Committee aims to bring together experts, businesses, and partners to promote the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam through activities such as: training and developing human resources; disseminating knowledge and experience; connecting and cooperating; and R&D, thereby forming a force of businesses and experts participating in the global chip and semiconductor development ecosystem. Simultaneously, it seeks to lobby and connect with government agencies at all levels to create incentives for domestic and international investors, contributing to the promotion of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.

Along with its focus on promoting the development of the semiconductor industry, at the VINASA 2024 strategic conference, the Association also agreed on three other strategic directions for its activities and those of its member businesses in the coming period, including: Green digital transformation; promoting innovation by pooling resources to establish an Innovation Center; and deploying the new Digital Trust service to help people, businesses, and organizations find reliable service and solution providers, building consumer trust.

With green transformation, VINASA believes that this will be the next wave that tends to develop rapidly and impact on a global scale, towards sustainable development. Green transformation is a new market that technology businesses need to have full awareness of, and quickly shift to catch up with new trends, not only green transformation for businesses but also consulting on transformation for customers and partners.
