Starting from December 10, all visitors purchasing tickets to visit Ha Long Bay will have to provide personal information such as Citizen Identification Card (CCCD) or passport. This new regulation was issued by the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board to strengthen management, ensure safety for visitors and complete the database for the electronic ticketing system.

Detailed regulations for each subject
According to the announcement, the provision of identification and authentication information for visitors will be specifically applied as follows:
- For Vietnamese visitors: Citizen Identification Number (CCCD) must be provided. In case of not being old enough to be issued a CCCD, visitors will provide a personal identification code.
- For international guests: Passport number and nationality information must be provided.
- For children and undocumented persons: It is necessary to provide information of the guardian or sponsor, including full name, CCCD or passport number and contact phone number for verification.
Location and purpose of application
Visitors will provide this information directly to ticket sales staff and control staff of the Management Board at two main locations: Ha Long International Passenger Port and Tuan Chau International Passenger Port.
The Ha Long - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board affirms that all collected data is only for the purpose of managing tourism activities on the bay according to current regulations. This unit is committed to ensuring data security and privacy of visitors.
Compared to before, when visitors only needed to provide basic information such as full name and nationality, the new regulation is expected to tighten the management and control of visitors' journeys on the bay.
