VSIP proposes building an additional 220-hectare industrial park in Nghe An.
According to the proposal from VSIP Nghe An Co., Ltd., the VSIP Nghe An 3 Industrial Park project is proposed to be built in Industrial Park No. 8, Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district, with a scale of 220 hectares.
VSIP Nghe An Co., Ltd. has submitted a proposal to the People's Committee of Nghe An province requesting approval for the location of the VSIP Nghe An 3 Industrial Park project. The proposed project is located in Industrial Park No. 8, covering an area of 220 hectares, in Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district.
The People's Committee of Nghe An province has assigned the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district to develop a 1/2,000 scale zoning plan for Industrial Zone No. 8 and simultaneously review and update this area into the Hung Nguyen district land use plan and other related plans to ensure consistency. Currently, the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district is in the process of selecting a consulting unit to develop the zoning plan.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, instructed the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district to continue implementing assigned tasks and coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to ensure the progress of the zoning plan for Industrial Zone No. 8. At the same time, the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone was requested to coordinate with relevant agencies to advise the Provincial People's Committee on the conditions for establishing the industrial zone in accordance with regulations, with the goal of completing this before March 31, 2025.

At the working session on December 17th between the People's Committee of Nghe An province and relevant departments, agencies, and localities, the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone reported on the progress of projects in the industrial park and proposed solutions to resolve existing obstacles.
Regarding land clearance, the VSIP Nghe An Urban and Service Industrial Park has completed 681.1 hectares out of a total of 750 hectares. This area includes 360.94 hectares for the industrial zone and 320.16 hectares for the urban and service zone. Of the remaining area, 61.51 hectares will be preserved in their current state to maintain existing residential areas, schools, village wells, football fields, cultural centers, and cemeteries.
Currently, 7.39 hectares remain uncompleted for land clearance, with Hung Nguyen district accounting for 7.06 hectares and Vinh city for 0.33 hectares. This area includes 3.74 hectares of agricultural land and 3.65 hectares of cemetery land.
Total investment in VSIP Nghe An 1 Industrial Park has reached over US$2.34 billion to date. Of this, 55 investment projects from secondary investors have a total investment of over VND 49,145 billion, equivalent to US$2.06 billion. Among these, FDI projects account for a large proportion with a total investment of over US$1.97 billion.
VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park was established in 2015 with an area of 750 hectares, belonging to VSIP Nghe An Co., Ltd., a member of the VSIP Group. Currently, VSIP Nghe An I has attracted 55 secondary investment projects, including 34 FDI projects with a total investment capital of over US$1.976 billion. The occupancy rate is approximately 97%, affirming the driving role of this industrial park in attracting investment in Nghe An.
VSIP Nghe An II covers an area of 500 hectares in Dien Tho, Dien Phu, and Dien Loc communes (Dien Chau district), within the Southeast Economic Zone of Nghe An province. This industrial park continues to be a driving project to attract investment to Nghe An. The total investment capital for VSIP Nghe An I and VSIP Nghe An II is 445 million USD.
