Previously, during a dialogue between district leaders, the Department of Education and Training, and parents, parents also expressed their frustration that for many years they wanted to enroll their children in schools near their homes but were always overwhelmed, forcing them to attend Ly Nam De Primary School, which is about 4-5km away.

This year, upon learning that Tay Mo 3 Primary School was opening, hundreds of parents requested to withdraw their children's enrollment to transfer them to a school closer to home, but were informed that the school would only accept students transferring from Tay Mo Primary School.

Mr. Le Duc Cong, a resident of Tay Mo ward, said that his child currently has to travel 3-5km to school, which is very inconvenient. “Why aren’t children assigned to schools according to their designated zones? Some people whose houses are opposite the school gate have to give up their seats to students who are not in their zone. Why does my child sit with 50-60 other students at Ly Nam De school while those at Tay Mo 3 school, near our house, only have 36 students? Is getting into a standard school more important, or is social welfare more important?” he said angrily.

Speaking to parents, Ms. Do Thi Thuy Ha, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District, stated that the local government's responsibility is to ensure the rights of students living in the area. The People's Committee of the district has agreed on a plan to try to fulfill the wishes of all parents for their children to attend public schools in the district.

“This is what we are trying to do. The new school year is about to begin, and we are also very anxious and hope that students will settle into school soon. The District People's Committee assures that information will be made public and transparent to more than 520 parents, and a response will be provided on August 27th,” Ms. Ha said.
