Although his health has stabilized, the delivery driver remains haunted by the incident and worried about facing the driver's family. His wife shared about the painful and difficult days the family has gone through.
Male shipper still dreams of being beaten in his sleep
Regarding the incident of a male shipper being beaten by a Lexus driver in Hanoi , on February 18, Ms. Nguyen Thi L. (29 years old, wife of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - the male shipper who was beaten) shared about her husband's health and what happened after the incident.
Ms. L. said that her husband's health has stabilized. He was discharged from the hospital on the evening of February 17th. However, he still suffers from headaches and dizziness and is unable to walk on his own. His mental state has not fully recovered, and he is still haunted by the events that occurred after being assaulted.
According to Mr. Hung's wife, in recent days, someone claiming to be the parents of the Lexus driver had visited her husband at the hospital. However, upon investigation, she discovered that these were not relatives of the driver. Concerned about her husband's safety, Ms. L. decided to ask the hospital for permission for him to be discharged and continue treatment at home. "My family has authorized a lawyer to handle the entire case," she shared.

Talking about her husband’s treatment, Ms. L. could not hide her sadness. During the first days of hospitalization, the pain from the bruises on his face and chest prevented Mr. Hung from sleeping.
“Seeing my husband in pain, I didn’t know what to do other than comfort and care for him. Recently, he was able to sleep a little, but he often talked nonsense and dreamed of being beaten,” Ms. L. confided.
Mr. Hung shared: "Every time I doze off, I dream of being beaten and wake up in panic. Sometimes my wife even wakes me up and I am startled and scared."
Despite his poor health, Mr. Hung hopes to continue his delivery work at the bakery after he recovers. He is still worried about having to face the Lexus driver's relatives.
The difficult situation of the male shipper
Ms. L. said that before the accident, her husband was a healthy man working as a carpenter. However, in 2018, in a work accident at a carpentry workshop in his hometown, Mr. Hung lost his left hand. After the accident, he could no longer do heavy work, and there were no suitable jobs in his hometown. He decided to go to Hanoi to find work.

When he arrived in the capital, Mr. Hung applied for jobs in many places but was rejected. Finally, he was accepted to work at a bakery, where the owner understood his family's situation and took pity on him and hired him to do delivery work.
Ms. L. shared that thanks to this job, her family's life has become less difficult. Before, the family relied solely on her income. With additional income from Mr. Hung, their lives gradually became more stable. "My husband and I lived peacefully until this heartbreaking incident occurred," Ms. L. said sadly.
Ms. L. couldn't hide her surprise and outrage upon hearing the news that her husband had been attacked. "He's a gentle person, never causing trouble with anyone. He's always careful and considerate, even parking my motorbike himself so as not to inconvenience others. Yet, just because he forgot a bill, he was beaten so badly he had to be hospitalized."
When asked about future plans, Ms. L. said that her family still has many worries. Although her husband's health has shown signs of recovery, the psychological trauma still haunts him. She hopes he will recover soon so he can resume his work and maintain a stable life for his family.
