Giang Thanh commune organizes sports and art festival to celebrate Ok Om Bok

On October 22 and 23, the People's Committee of Giang Thanh commune (An Giang province) organized sports and cultural activities to celebrate the Ok Om Bok Festival 2025 of the Khmer people.

The teams competed in a tug-of-war.

The song and dance performance was presented by the Women's Union of Giang Thanh commune.

Secretary of the Giang Thanh Commune Party Committee, Ha Van Thanh Khuong, presented trophies and commemorative flags to the winning teams in the men's volleyball competition.

Vice Chairman of Giang Thanh Commune People's Committee Tran Ngoc Bich presented commemorative flags to the first, second, and third place teams overall.

Eight teams competed in sports events such as canoe racing, duck catching, tug-of-war, pot smashing, and men's volleyball. Four teams participated in a cultural performance competition. In addition, the commune also organized stalls displaying traditional Khmer food and cakes.

The People's Committee of Giang Thanh commune awarded first, second, and third prizes to the teams participating in the sports, cultural, and food stall exhibition. Specifically, in the men's volleyball competition, the first prize was awarded to the Phu My inter-hamlet team; and the Phu Loi inter-hamlet team won first prize in tug-of-war.

The first prize in the solo category went to the Women's Union of Giang Thanh commune; in the duet category, the first prize went to the Phu My inter-hamlet team; and the first prize in the dance category went to the Women's Union of Giang Thanh commune. The Phu Loi inter-hamlet team won first prize for the food stall category.

In the canoe racing competition, for the women's doubles category, first place went to the Phu Loi inter-hamlet team; second place to the Giang Thanh Commune Military Command team; and third place to the Hoa Dien Commune team. For the men's doubles category, first place went to the Phu Loi inter-hamlet team, second place to the Hoa Dien Commune team, and third place to the Tan Khanh Hoa inter-hamlet team. For the mixed doubles category, first place went to the Giang Thanh Commune Military Command team, second place to the Phu My inter-hamlet team, and third place to the Tan Khanh Hoa inter-hamlet team.

The People's Committee of Giang Thanh commune awarded the first prize to the Phu Loi hamlet group, the second prize to the Phu My hamlet group, and the third prize to the Giang Thanh Commune Military Command.
