In November 2025, press and media agencies provided timely, truthful, and comprehensive information on Party building, the political system, and socio-economic development in the province. Specifically, 1,065 news articles reflecting on the province were published in central, sectoral, and local press agencies. The information flow remained stable, with no media hotspots emerging; positive information accounted for 50.1%, while negative information accounted for less than 1%.
This will focus on outstanding achievements, creating momentum for An Giang to achieve its economic growth target of 8.5% or higher in 2025.
The press extensively covered the activities of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ho Van Mung, who chaired meetings to assess the progress of projects serving the APEC 2027 Conference in the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone.
In addition, tourism in the province achieved impressive results, welcoming over 24 million visitors, including more than 1.9 million international tourists, with total revenue exceeding 68,000 billion VND. At the briefing, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Lan, Deputy Director of the An Giang Provincial Department of Construction, reported on the results of the coordinated efforts to repair the 110kV underwater cable connecting Ha Tien and Phu Quoc. The project involves the construction of a main coastal road leading to the center of Ha Tien City (now Ha Tien Ward), with a total investment of 1,400 billion VND, covering a total length of 13.318 km.
According to the construction schedule, on December 28th and 29th, the work platform was to be constructed to facilitate the trial pile driving for Abutments A and B of Bridge No. 2, part of the main coastal road project leading to Ha Tien ward. After completing the installation of 6 barge anchor pillars and 8 steel pillars, the power company reported a power outage. The An Giang Provincial Department of Construction directed the supervising and construction units to closely monitor the site and coordinate handling as needed.
On the morning of November 30th, relevant departments, agencies, and localities held a meeting to address the power outage and agreed on a plan: cutting the broken cable and connecting it above ground from the mainland to the point of breakage for temporary repair; An Giang Power Company will be responsible for pulling the connecting wire.
The Director of the Department of Construction instructed relevant units to support the electricity sector throughout the process, arranging barges, cranes, sand-dredging vessels, necessary materials and tools, engineers, vehicle operators, and laborers to coordinate and follow the instructions of the electricity sector to bring the cable to the surface.
On December 5th, the power sector completed the foundation and two concrete pillars on the shore, and proceeded to lay the overhead wires to connect to the cable. By 11:40 PM on the same day, the restoration of electricity supply to the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone was completed.
