In the context of Vietnam's drastic and comprehensive digital transformation, cybersecurity plays the role of the most solid wall for the success of digital transformation. "Through the competition, we hope to find "quality seeds" to nurture into a generation of strong cybersecurity experts for the future," said Senior Lieutenant Colonel Trieu Manh Tung.

The cybersecurity industry will continue to grow strongly in the coming years, especially when Vietnam is facing a shortage of high-quality human resources in the field of protecting important information systems of the country as well as of businesses.

"The competition is an opportunity to discover, train and nurture qualified individuals who are ready to take on key roles in cybersecurity," Senior Colonel Trieu Manh Tung emphasized.

Agreeing with the opinion of Senior Colonel Tung, Dr. To Hong Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Education and Training , said: The contest is organized to create a healthy learning and professional exchange environment between students of universities and colleges not only in the country but also abroad; at the same time, searching for and honoring young talents in the field of cyber security - contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for the country.

Vietnam is in need of a large, highly qualified cybersecurity workforce to meet the requirements of protecting national cyberspace.

In the context of the Party and Government resolutely implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW on ensuring network safety and security, with increasingly sophisticated risks and attack methods, the competition not only has important political significance but also profound practical value.

The 2025 Cyber Security Student Competition was organized as a side event of the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention 2025 on preventing and combating cybercrime – an important milestone demonstrating Vietnam's strong commitment to the international community in the effort to build a safe, healthy and humane cyber environment.

According to Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Hong Quan, Director of the Training Center, Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05), organizing the competition within the framework of this important event has profound significance, contributing to spreading the spirit of the Convention - putting people, especially the young generation, at the center of all efforts to protect and develop digital space.
