Most businesses pledge to relocate from Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park

On December 5, Dong Nai Land Fund Development Center said that regarding the conversion of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park (Tran Bien Ward, Dong Nai Province) into an urban - commercial - service area and environmental improvement, up to now, the majority of enterprises in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park have committed to relocate and dismantle their factories to move to a new location.

Accordingly, Dong Nai authorities have issued nearly 50 decisions to reclaim land in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park; many enterprises have handed over clean land such as: Vietnam Electric Cable Joint Stock Company, Grinding and Washing Company Limited, Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company. In addition, a series of enterprises are also dismantling factories, committed to completing the relocation from Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park this December, such as: Tan Mai Group Joint Stock Company, Bien Hoa Concrete Joint Stock Company, Southern Basic Chemicals Company, Bibica Bien Hoa Factory (Bibica Joint Stock Company).

There are currently about 20 enterprises in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park that have not yet committed to handing over the premises; at the same time, they have proposed a number of contents related to compensation and support when moving. Dong Nai authorities are continuing to work with enterprises to reach consensus; mobilizing and urging enterprises to move soon. In case enterprises deliberately delay and do not move, Dong Nai will complete the documents and procedures to carry out forced demolition of constructions and forced land recovery.

According to the Dong Nai Province Land Fund Development Center, to implement the Project of converting Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an urban - commercial - service area and improve the environment, Dong Nai needs to relocate all businesses and families out of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, reclaiming nearly 330 hectares of land. To date, the authorities have reclaimed more than 150 hectares of land.

Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park was established in 1963, is the oldest industrial park in Vietnam, with 68 operating enterprises. This industrial park is located in a prime location, adjacent to National Highway 1A, National Highway 51, and Dong Nai River.

In early 2024, Dong Nai approved the Project to convert Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an urban - commercial - service area and improve the environment. According to the project, the province will relocate all businesses out of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, then build it into an urban - commercial - service area and an administrative center.
