Opening of the 2025 Euréka Prize Finals

On December 5, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, the opening ceremony of the 27th Euréka Student Scientific Research Award 2025 took place, opening a series of competitive activities for the best research projects of students nationwide.

Held annually, the Euréka Award is organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City National University. The award aims to encourage creative thinking and scientific research spirit of students, contributing to applying knowledge to solve practical life problems.

In 2025, the award continued to be large-scale with 2,179 topics from more than 7,500 students from 161 universities, colleges and academies nationwide. After the school-level selection round and the semi-final round at 16 universities in Ho Chi Minh City, 192 topics from 84 schools were selected for the final round in 15 fields.

The wide participation shows the growing attraction and prestige of this academic playground. Many topics this year are assessed to have high scientific content, practical application ability and transfer potential.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Son, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, said that the Euréka Award is not only an academic playground for students but also an important contribution to realizing the Party's Resolutions. This is a place where the intelligence of the young generation, who will become scientists, engineers, technology experts, and those who will step into the next generation, converge.

In the final round, candidates will present their research results to a scientific council consisting of scientists, professors, associate professors, doctors and experts from research institutes, universities and departments.

This year's final round also organized many accompanying activities such as a 4-day gathering for contestants, an exchange at Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, and a visit to historical sites of the city.

According to the award structure, each field will award 1 First Prize (10 million VND), 1 Second Prize (5 million VND), 1 Third Prize (3 million VND) and Encouragement Prizes (1 million VND). Lecturers who guide the winning topics will also receive a certificate of merit from the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union in recognition of their contributions. In addition, some applicable topics will be supported with funding to continue research, development and commercialization.
