Speaking with reporters of the People's Army Newspaper, Standing Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Ha emphasized Dak Lak's determination to contribute to the whole country in achieving the 2025 growth target of at least 8%, successfully implementing the goal of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, Vietnam will surpass the low middle income level.

In 1975, the Buon Ma Thuot Victory became the opening victory for the campaign to liberate the South and unify the country. 50 years later, a coffee festival imbued with the cultural identity of the Central Highlands with a series of activities honoring coffee trees, coffee growers, and Dak Lak coffee products was held in the city known as the "capital of "Central Highlands" celebrates the 50th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory Day, towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 / April 30, 2025).

Standing Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Ha was very enthusiastic when talking about the strategy of making Buon Ma Thuot coffee trees and coffee products become a spearhead and important brand in the local socio -economic development, associated with the target of a minimum growth of 8% in 2025 and double-digit growth in the period of 2026-2030; successfully implementing the goals set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress - including the goal of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, Vietnam will become a developing country with modern industry, surpassing the low middle-income level.

According to comrade Nguyen Tuan Ha, the coffee industry plays an important role in the socio-economic development of Vietnam in general and the agricultural sector as well as Dak Lak province in particular. In 2024, Vietnam's coffee exports will reach a value of more than 5.4 billion USD, ranking among the top 10 industries with the largest export value in Vietnam. The coffee industry will contribute up to 1.2 billion USD out of the 1.4 billion USD of Dak Lak's exports in 2024.

With the values that the coffee industry brings to the province, to coffee farmers as well as coffee production enterprises, Dak Lak is building the Project "Dak Lak - the destination of world coffee" to submit to the Prime Minister. The province will continue to call for investment to enhance the value and brand of Buon Ma Thuot coffee, considering this as one of the growth drivers that need to be promoted so that the province can actively contribute with the whole country to implement the Government's resolution on growth of at least 8% in 2025 and reaching double digits in the period 2026-2030.

Regarding this investment motivation, right on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory Day (March 10, 1975 / March 10, 2025), Trung Nguyen Group Joint Stock Company organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Trung Nguyen Legend Energy Coffee Factory with a total investment value of nearly 1,000 billion VND in phase 1, promising to bring Buon Ma Thuot a leading coffee processing factory in Asia. Communications Director of Trung Nguyen Group Joint Stock Company Vo Thi Ha Giang shared the company's perspective: If a country wants to rise up, it needs to focus on improving its internal strength. Trung Nguyen has made great efforts to have good internal strength, proudly bringing Vietnamese coffee to the world. In the context of complicated tariffs, Trung Nguyen is still persistent, continuing to strive to conquer the 3 largest markets in the world: the US, China and India.

According to Ms. Vo Thi Ha Giang, Trung Nguyen's approach is that in the integration process, not only does our country reach out to the world, but we also need to make the world come to Vietnam. Trung Nguyen has the aspiration to make Buon Ma Thuot the capital of robusta coffee, "the destination of world coffee", to bring the world to Buon Ma Thuot, to Vietnam...

Enhance internal strength for sustainable development

Both business representatives and Dak Lak provincial leaders shared and agreed with the view that strengthening internal strength is an extremely important strategic direction on the country's journey to rise up. The Standing Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee emphasized the view that the world situation always has very rapid, erratic, and unpredictable fluctuations. Trade wars are also an issue that needs to be forecasted. Therefore, businesses must be very proactive in having timely response solutions, thereby consolidating and enhancing internal strength for sustainable development.

Representatives of coffee production and trading enterprises in Buon Ma Thuot when talking to us also shared the same opinion, Buon Ma Thuot in particular, the Central Highlands in general are very famous for coffee products, not only in the domestic market but also in the international market. The fact that enterprises invest in factories to deeply process coffee products in Buon Ma Thuot and the Central Highlands region is not only a strategic production and business orientation but also a gratitude to the coffee land, to the coffee growers who have contributed to creating the famous coffee brand of Vietnam, helping Dak Lak develop sustainably thanks to coffee trees.

In 1975, Dak Lak was an agricultural province with a backward economy, with the province's basic investment capital being less than 17 million VND, and the total retail sales of goods in the province reaching only about 44.5 million VND. After 50 years of liberation, coffee trees have helped farmers go from hunger and lack of clothing to not only being well-fed and warmly dressed but also eating well and dressing well; the total product in Dak Lak province in 2024 reached more than 63,356 billion VND.

Coffee trees will certainly continue to make an important contribution to helping Dak Lak rise up with the nation, successfully achieving the first goal on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification and the next two goals on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country.
