Ha Tinh Club is thriving.
Before the start of the 2024-2025 V-League season, perhaps even the most optimistic fans of Ha Tinh FC couldn't have imagined that their beloved team would be the only undefeated team and currently sit in second place in the standings. It's unbelievable! Because just four months ago, they struggled to retain their V-League spot after a hard-fought victory against PVF-CAND.
It's too early to say whether Ha Tinh FC will be successful this season. But at least, so far, they've made a very strong impression. Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong's contribution has been immense. First, he and his colleagues have made some very effective signings. In midfield, he brought in Dang Van Tram, a "sweeper" who came through the ranks of The Cong Viettel FC, and this midfielder hasn't disappointed him thanks to his impressive ball-winning ability. On the right wing, the two new signings, Huynh Tan Tai and Bui Duy Thuong, have freed up Nguyen Trong Hoang. The midfielder from Nghe An has been able to play more in midfield, contributing more to the team's overall play.
Xuan Truong and Ha Tinh Club are thriving.
In attack, Geovane Magno and Mbo Noel are also playing very well. Magno has scored 3 goals and won the V-League Player of the Month award for October, while Mbo has scored 2 goals, provided 1 assist, and created numerous scoring opportunities. In the center-back position, the Vietnamese-American player Adou Minh, along with foreign player Helerson, are bringing stability to the team from Hong Mountain. Adou Minh even scored 2 goals, including the only goal that helped Ha Tinh FC win 1-0 against Nam Dinh FC in the first round, the first shock of the 2024-2025 V-League season. Currently, Ha Tinh FC has the most solid defense in the league, having conceded only 4 goals.
Those who were 'resurrected'
More than just helping Ha Tinh FC improve, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong has also helped players considered "past their prime" gradually make a strong comeback. Xuan Truong has consistently performed well since last season. This season, with Van Tram supporting him from behind in the 4-1-4-1 formation, the midfielder from Tuyen Quang has been allowed to push forward more, approach the opponent's penalty area more often, and make more intelligent passes, creating opportunities for his teammates. This tactical system helps to maximize Xuan Truong's strengths, just like when he played very well for the Vietnamese national team under Coach Nguyen Huu Thang (at the 2016 AFF Cup).

Van Tram, a player who underwent a long period of treatment and recovery from a knee injury, also left his mark. He always played with dedication, responsibility, and wasn't afraid of physical contact. Huynh Tan Tai, Bui Duy Thuong, Huynh Tien Dat, and Viktor Le, players who were not given much playing time at Hanoi Police FC (CAHN), Binh Duong, and Binh Dinh, are gradually rediscovering their form in the colors of Ha Tinh FC. Both Tien Dat and Duy Thuong have each had one assist this season, while Viktor Le recently scored the decisive goal to help Ha Tinh FC win 1-0 against HAGL.
Meanwhile, Geovane Magno is striving to regain his image as a "terror" in the eyes of V-League defenses. Before his resurgence with Ha Tinh FC, he endured two of his most forgettable seasons since playing in Vietnam. In the 2023 season, he only played half a season due to injury. In the 2023-2024 season, he scored a total of two goals. But now, he has three goals, and that number is not expected to stop there.
With confidence restored to coach Nguyen Thanh Cong and the players, Ha Tinh Club could spring even more surprises.
