Affection, solidarity, and significance were the general feelings of the audience about the art program themed "Vietnamese-Lao Students, Proudly Continuing the Legacy," which took place on the evening of September 20th at the Victory Monument at Nui Ba Mountain, Cat Tien commune ( Gia Lai province).
This is a key activity of the 2025 Vietnam-Laos Student Cultural Festival, organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Gia Lai province in coordination with the Youth Unions of universities and colleges in the province.
Nearly 300 Lao and Vietnamese students studying at universities and colleges in the province, along with youth union members from Cat Tien commune, participated in the program.
Throughout the program, the heroic atmosphere and fraternal friendship between Vietnam and Laos were expressed through songs and dances rich in the distinctive cultural identities of the two nations.
The audience enjoyed many outstanding performances such as "Come to the Vietnamese People," "Inheriting the Heritage of the Lao Khen," "Continuing the Story of Peace ," "Joyful End of the Fasting Festival," "Shining Prosperous Vietnam," "The Girl from Vientiane," ... performed by Lao and Vietnamese students.
Pham Dang Thuy Trang, a student from the Faculty of Education at Quy Nhon University, emotionally shared that Vietnam and Laos are close neighbors, sharing mountains and rivers, and the majestic Truong Son mountain range. Throughout history, the two nations have always stood shoulder to shoulder, fighting together against common enemies and sharing both joys and sorrows. Countless generations have sacrificed and dedicated themselves to preserving and nurturing this special friendship and solidarity – a relationship that the beloved President Ho Chi Minh once described as "brighter than the full moon."
Today, as both countries are building and developing their nations together, the Vietnam-Laos friendship continues to be affirmed as an invaluable asset, a crucial factor ensuring stability, cooperation, and sustainable development for both peoples.
Throughout this journey, young people – today's generation of students – have the responsibility to inherit and develop these noble values, transforming them into concrete actions. We are living in an era full of opportunities but also with many challenges.
International integration, digital transformation, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution are placing new demands on young people – they must be knowledgeable, strong-willed, highly skilled, and especially know how to appreciate and preserve their national cultural identity...
Today's meaningful art program has given all citizens, especially young people, a valuable opportunity to learn more about the country, people, and traditions of our neighboring country Laos, thereby arousing pride, a sense of responsibility, and a desire to contribute among Vietnamese and Lao students.
In keeping with the beautiful spirit of "mutual support" between the two nations, at the art program, the organizers presented 10 gifts to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds living in Cat Tien commune.
On the same day, the students visited, experienced, and learned at several historical sites and scenic spots in Cat Tien commune, such as the church of the patriotic scholar Nguyen Trung Truc, went on a picnic and organized games at Trung Luong beach picnic area, Ong Nui Pagoda... and participated in a friendly football match with the youth of Cat Tien commune.
