On the afternoon of July 20th, leaders of Hue Central Hospital announced that the hospital's second facility had received and treated 10 patients suspected of food poisoning after eating food at a memorial service in Phong Dinh ward, Hue city.
According to initial information, all 10 patients shared the same dishes at a memorial feast held at the cemetery on the afternoon of July 19th in My Xuyen residential area, Phong Dinh ward.

Among those suspected of food poisoning, 5 patients had reheated their food at 6 PM on the same day.
According to the epidemiological investigation by the Hue City Department of Health , the feast consisted of 6 tables but only about 50 guests attended, including dishes such as jellyfish and shrimp salad, steamed squid, grilled chicken, grouper hot pot, and yogurt, prepared by a restaurant in Phong Dinh ward.
Most suspected cases of food poisoning involved consuming all the dishes. Approximately 15 hours after the meal, some people developed symptoms such as fever, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting.

According to the leaders of Hue Central Hospital, as of 1:30 PM on July 20th, the hospital's second facility had received 10 cases of food poisoning, including one case being monitored in the Intensive Care Unit, while the rest were being treated in the Department of Tropical Diseases.
The current health status of all 10 cases has improved. In particular, patient NTL (84 years old), being treated in the Intensive Care Unit, is now conscious and his hemodynamic status has improved.
The Hue City Department of Health, in coordination with the Central Hospital, Branch 2, is updating and monitoring the condition of patients related to the suspected food poisoning incident in order to take appropriate intervention measures.
The Hue City Department of Health has also directed the Food Safety Department, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Phong Dien Health Center to investigate, verify, and address the environmental issues related to the food poisoning incident in the area.
