3 things Samsung needs to fix with the Galaxy A series.

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên02/01/2024

Samsung's Galaxy A series is among the best mid-range phones on the market. They tend to offer a solid list of specifications, a reasonable price, and wide availability. Even so, they're not quite perfect, so the company needs to improve some essential aspects of this product line in 2024.

Fixing camera shutter lag

Camera shutter lag is arguably the worst aspect of Galaxy A phones, especially in low-light conditions. Specifically, phones like the Galaxy A34 and A54 have significant camera shutter lag when shooting in low light.

The shutter speed of the Galaxy A series remains a limitation that needs improvement.

In reviews conducted by Android Authority , pressing the shutter button on Galaxy A phones resulted in significant lag in low-light environments, leading to blurry photos because users' hands weren't steady while waiting for the camera to capture the scene.

Hopefully Samsung can fix this issue by 2024, as a limitation when taking photos is image noise that blurs the quality, making the images unrecognizable. This isn't a problem with modern smartphones.

More high-end designs

The 2023 Galaxy A series brings some design elements derived from the flagship Galaxy S line, such as similar rear camera cutouts and rounded edges. But they still have room for improvement.

The Galaxy A34 still has the drawback of its outdated teardrop-style notch design.

First and foremost, it's impossible to ignore the use of cheap plastic frames on both the Galaxy A34 and A54. Samsung is expected to offer more premium designs in 2024. A recent leak of the Galaxy A55 suggests that the product may adopt a premium approach by focusing on quality.

However, this isn't entirely bad from a design standpoint, as Samsung's budget phones still stand out thanks to their IP67 rating. Users don't see brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, or Motorola offering this level of water and dust resistance in their mid-range products.

Wired charging is faster.

Samsung isn't known for offering fast charging speeds, so it's no surprise that the company's mid-range phones have long charging times. As the tech world moves towards higher levels of fast charging, Galaxy A phones need to further improve their charging capabilities.

Slow charging speeds put the Galaxy A series at a disadvantage compared to its competitors in the same segment.

For example, the Galaxy A54 takes 85 minutes to fully charge, while the Galaxy A34 needs about 100 minutes. Of course, people don't expect the company to provide charging power above 65W like other products; Samsung could significantly reduce charging time if the phone spent more time reaching its maximum charging speed of over 25W.
