In 2024, Can Tho University organized the Vietnam University Entrance Assessment Test (V-SAT) to obtain results for university admissions.
The exam, organized by Can Tho University in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training , covers seven subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, and Civic Education. Mathematics has a 90-minute time limit, while the remaining subjects have 60-minute time limits. The exam is in multiple-choice format and conducted on computers. The questions consist of three types: true/false, matching pairs, and short-answer questions.
The exam's scope of knowledge is within the high school curriculum. Specifically, 90% of the exam content is from the 12th grade curriculum, with the remainder covering 10th and 11th grade knowledge. Candidates can take the exam multiple times, in multiple subjects, and use the combination of subjects and the highest score from their first attempt for university admissions applications.
Can Tho University plans to reserve a maximum of 20% of the quota for each major (except teacher training, Literature and Journalism majors) by considering the results of this exam.
Candidates registering by this method must have a total score of 3 subjects in the combination of 15 or more, with no subject below 1 point (10-point scale). For the aptitude subject, candidates can use the results organized by Can Tho University or other schools, but must achieve 5 points or more. The expected registration period is from May 20 to June 15. The V-SAT exam schedule will be announced by the school later.
This year, Can Tho University is recruiting 10,060 students for 109 majors, an increase of nearly 2,500 compared to last year. Of these, 15 majors are offered under advanced and high-quality programs.
Besides considering V-SAT scores, this university also recruits students through six other methods, including: direct admission, priority admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; admission based on high school graduation exam scores (at least 50% of the quota); admission based on academic transcripts (maximum 30%); admission based on academic transcripts for teacher training programs (maximum 40% of the quota for each program); selection into advanced and high-quality programs; and direct admission to knowledge enhancement courses.
