On August 29, Phuc Tho district (Hanoi) organized an auction of 39 land lots in Trach My Loc and Tho Loc communes. Of which, Trach My Loc commune has 30 lots located in Doc Tranh area, area 96-148 m2, starting price over 23.4 million VND/m2; Tho Loc commune has 9 lots with area of about 134 m2/lot, starting price 19.8 million VND/m2.

According to regulations, auction participants must deposit 20% of the starting price of the land plot, equivalent to about 450 million to about 600 million VND per lot. There were more than 350 participants with nearly 700 valid registrations.
39 plots of land were successfully auctioned. For plots in the Phuom field area (Tho Loc commune), the highest winning price was over 26.4 million VND/m2; for plots in the Doc Tranh field area (Trach My Loc commune), the highest winning price was up to 60 million VND/m2, 2.6 times higher than the starting price.
Many people believe that the winning price in Trach My Loc commune is higher than the average price of residential land around (currently, the surrounding residential area is trading at 30-35 million VND/m2 for land on the street, and land in the alley is about 20-30 million VND/m2).
Previously, land auctions in Thanh Oai and Hoai Duc districts (Hanoi) attracted a large number of participants, with thousands of registrations. At the most recent auction in Hoai Duc on September 19, many plots of land were won at prices of over VND100 million/m2, with the highest lot being over VND133 million/m2.
On August 21, right after Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested to rectify land auctions, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment established an inspection team to grasp the situation of land use rights auctions in Hoai Duc and Thanh Oai districts.
