The general difficulties of the world economy have affected import-export activities through border gates in the province, causing the budget revenue of Ha Tinh Customs Department to only reach 6,386 billion VND, equal to 58.2% of the estimate assigned by the Ministry of Finance and the Provincial People's Council.

As of October 2, Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department has carried out customs procedures for 11,644 declarations (up 8.18% over the same period in 2022) with a total import-export turnover of 4.781 billion USD (up 15.52% over the same period in 2022). The main import-export items are: machinery, equipment, raw materials for steel factories, iron and steel and electronic products...

Customs clearance activities through Vung Ang port gate.

Thereby, Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department collected 6,386 billion VND for the state budget, reaching 58.2% of the estimate assigned by the Ministry of Finance and the Provincial People's Council (10,968 billion VND) and decreasing 17.82% over the same period in 2022.

The reason for the decrease in budget revenue compared to the same period in 2022 is due to the general difficulties of the world economy that have affected import-export activities through border gates in the province. In particular, Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Company Limited has encountered difficulties in finding output for its products, so it has sharply reduced the import of raw materials such as coal, ore, scrap, alloys, etc.

The difficult production and business situation of Formosa Ha Tinh Iron and Steel Company Limited has greatly affected the import-export tax revenue of Ha Tinh.

In addition, landslides on Highway 8 in Bolikhamxay province (Laos) due to prolonged heavy rains also affected the trading activities of businesses through Cau Treo International Border Gate, reducing the budget revenue of the Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department in recent months.

In the last months of the year, Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department is resolutely implementing solutions, reviewing major projects related to import-export activities that are being and will be implemented in Ha Tinh province to have a plan to attract, guide operations, and facilitate businesses to increase budget revenue, strive to complete the 2023 plan targets and create room for the coming years.
