What majors does India "invite" Vietnamese students to study?

Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) offers fully funded scholarships with monthly stipend to international students pursuing Undergraduate, Masters and PhD studies in the land of the Ganges. This is the best scholarship for international students to study in government universities in India with government funding.

During the academic year 2024-25, the Government of India has awarded 61 ICCR scholarships to outstanding students and scholars from 27 provinces and cities of Vietnam.

The students and scholars awarded the Indian Scholarship will pursue 11 PhD, 39 Postgraduate and 11 Undergraduate programmes at prestigious universities in India such as IIT Roorkee, Delhi University, Nalanda University, Banaras Hindu University, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Andhra University, Gujarat University, Kerala University, Lucknow University, Mysore University, Dibrugarh University and Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam.

The majors that Vietnamese students choose to study in India are computer science , commerce, business administration, tourism and travel management, social work, public administration, English language, water resources, besides other majors such as Buddhism, philosophy, psychology, Pali language and ancient Indian history.

As a full scholarship, students will be exempted from Indian visa fees, tuition fees, allowance to cover living expenses, hostel accommodation and return airfare to and from India.

To enhance cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries, the Government of India offers a number of fully funded scholarships with monthly stipend.

In addition to degree programmes, India also offers fully funded ITEC training programmes for officials, professionals and academicians, ranging from one week to several weeks in various fields such as agriculture, IT, finance, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, energy, English, etc. This year, there are about 130 places available for Vietnamese officials. In addition, there are about 40 training places specifically for the Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam (Vietnam People's Army).

The Embassy encourages and welcomes Vietnamese candidates to apply and benefit from the above mentioned scholarship programs for studying in India. The A2A portal https://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/ will provide you with detailed information about the ICCR scholarships, which usually open for applications around March every year.
