Young Pioneer and Children Newspaper awards prizes for the contest "Bright eyes for students"

With the desire to reduce refractive errors, especially myopia in school-age children, "Bright Eyes for School Children" is a series of competitions organized by the Young Pioneers and Children's Newspaper to help Vietnamese children be provided with knowledge, skills, and know how to properly care for and protect their eyes. Support schools in professional work, to detect, screen and treat early eye diseases in school children, minimizing the serious consequences of myopia causing permanent vision loss.

Candidates participating in the first "Bright Eyes for School" contest, school year 2023-2024, need to have complete entries for both the knowledge test (multiple choice questions) and the talent test (drawings on topics related to school vision health).

Launched from November 2023, until the end of April 2024, the "Bright Eyes for School" contest received the attention and enthusiastic response of teachers and students in 50 primary schools in Hanoi .

After the judging period, the Organizing Committee unanimously selected 40 individual and group prizes, including: 3 First prizes, 6 Second prizes, 8 Third prizes and 12 Individual Encouragement prizes. Along with that, there are 11 group prizes for schools.

Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Nguyen Phan Khue - Editor-in-Chief of the Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, emphasized that through the contest, the Organizing Committee as well as teachers hope that children will promote and raise their awareness in caring for and protecting their eyes.
