The contest aims to widely disseminate knowledge about the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people; the traditions of the People's Army, the Vietnam Coast Guard, and localities in building and protecting the Fatherland. At the same time, the contest contributes to disseminating the provisions of Vietnamese and international laws on seas and islands, thereby fostering love for the homeland, national pride, and a sense of responsibility among students in maintaining security, order, and safety on the sacred seas and islands of the Fatherland.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Colonel Cao Xuan Quan expressed his hope that the contest “I love my homeland’s sea and islands” would receive positive responses from students, teachers, parents and the whole society, creating a widespread effect. The contest is not only a healthy and useful playground, but also helps students supplement their knowledge, raise their awareness of the law on seas and islands, thereby becoming exemplary citizens, contributing to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

Immediately after the launch, the online competition, the cluster-level competition will take place from December 8 to 13. After that, the Organizing Committee will select 100 students with the highest achievements to participate in the direct competition scheduled to be held on January 19, 2026.

In 2025, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command organized 7 "I love my homeland's sea and islands" contests, attracting the participation of nearly 155,000 students from 227 secondary schools in the area. The organizing committee awarded 900 certificates and 148 prizes to groups and individuals with outstanding achievements. In addition, the unit focused on social security work; awarded 90 scholarships and 50 bicycles to students in difficult circumstances who strived to excel in their studies.

These meaningful actions not only strengthen the solidarity between the army and the people but also beautify the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers - the Vietnam Coast Guard soldiers.
