We, along with the commander of Brigade 162, went to encourage the officers and soldiers who are building houses for people in Tay Khanh Son commune, Khanh Hoa province. Currently, it is the last month of the rainy season in the South Central region, heavy and unexpected rains that last for a long time lead to landslides and traffic jams on many roads. Gathering materials to repair and build new houses has caused many difficulties for people.

Brigade 162 (Naval Region 4) selected officers and soldiers with construction, mechanical, carpentry, and plumbing skills to form teams of workers. |
Mr. Cao Minh Vy, Chairman of Tay Khanh Son Commune People's Committee, said: "The traffic routes to remote areas of the locality are almost paralyzed. Bricks, stones, and sand can be supplied locally within a limited area; however, the delivery of cement and steel to the project has not been possible. The local government is continuing to make efforts, working with the Navy Region 4 troops to open the road to bring in materials as soon as possible."
To carry out the "Quang Trung Campaign", Brigade 162 selected officers and soldiers with construction, mechanical, carpentry, and electrical and plumbing skills to form teams of workers. Understanding the purpose and significance of the campaign, many officers and soldiers proactively volunteered to join the teams of workers to help people repair and build new houses. The Brigade closely coordinated with local authorities to survey the extent of damage to each household, develop plans to build new houses or repair them, ensuring safety and sustainability.

| With the spirit of "No time to waste, no Sundays", officers and soldiers speed up construction progress. |
On the way to Tay Khanh Son commune, officers and soldiers of Brigade 162 are coordinating with other forces to level, clear and open the road to bring materials to the assembly location for construction. The field uniforms are drenched in sweat, the hands of shovels and hoes are quickly shoveling dirt and rocks onto wheelbarrows to quickly clear the only road into the commune. Although the construction work is quite hard and the weather is sometimes unfavorable, the officers and soldiers are very excited, competing to complete the project ahead of schedule.
It was past noon, Major Do Van Bien, Brigade 162, in charge of the construction team, was still working hard to build a new house for Cao Ca Yen's family. On the old house's foundation, the new house was solidly built with a total area of 40 square meters . Currently, the house has completed the stone foundation and built 1/3 of the brick wall. Major Do Van Bien said: "The weather this season is sunny and rainy erratically. Taking advantage of the good weather, we increased the construction time, we can work early, rest late or work through noon, Saturday and Sunday. The purpose is to help complete the house soon, helping the family quickly stabilize their lives."

Cao Ca Yen and his wife do not have stable jobs, and their family is in a particularly difficult situation. The flood washed away almost all of their assets. His family was poor, and now they are even poorer. Yen said: “My family is poor, with many children, and now the flood has washed everything away, leaving nothing. My wife and I don’t know when we will be able to rebuild our house. Now the Navy has helped my family rebuild our house, we are so happy! Thank you very much, Navy.”
Each newly built house will be supported by the State with 60 million VND and 5.6 tons of cement. Navy teams will support workers to help people stabilize their lives soon. Visiting and encouraging officers and soldiers who are building new houses to help people, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Vuong, Brigade Commander of Brigade 162, presented Cao Ca Yen's family with food, groceries and some essential tools and household items.

| The work is hard and heavy, but the tasks are well defined so the officers and soldiers are very enthusiastic about carrying them out. |
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Vuong said: “We closely coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to support people in the most effective way. Repairing and building new houses to help people stabilize their lives soon is not only the responsibility but also the sentiment of the officers and soldiers of Brigade 162, especially for the people in remote and economically disadvantaged areas.”
These days, not only Brigade 162 but also many Navy units are racing against time to repair and rebuild severely damaged houses, while continuing to support people in cleaning up the environment after rain and floods. The rain and floods have swept away many material possessions of the people, but this place will forever have beautiful images of "Uncle Ho's soldiers - Navy soldiers".
