After the welcoming ceremony, the Navy Commanders of the two countries held talks. Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem warmly welcomed the delegation to visit the Vietnam Navy. The Navy Commander emphasized that Vietnam and Cambodia are two neighboring countries with a long-standing traditional friendship. Today, the good tradition is constantly being consolidated, preserved and promoted.

In recent times, defense cooperation between the two countries has achieved many positive results, and bilateral cooperation mechanisms between Vietnam and Cambodia have increasingly developed.

Naval cooperation has always been a bright spot in the Vietnam-Cambodia defense relationship. The two sides have widely deployed in areas such as delegation exchanges, training, education, logistics and technical assistance, etc. The joint patrol mechanism has contributed to maintaining stability and security in the historical waters and the border waters between the two countries, making a positive contribution to peace , stability and development of each country as well as the region and the world.

In the coming time, to continue promoting the relationship and cooperation between the Vietnamese Navy and the Cambodian Navy, Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem proposed to maintain the exchange of delegations at all levels to enhance mutual understanding and trust; maintain good implementation of the Regulations on joint patrol coordination at sea. The two sides should study the mechanism for exchanging information on the situation of fishermen violating each other's waters to coordinate effective handling in the soonest time, in the spirit of humanity.

Regarding training, the Commander of the Vietnam Navy assigned the Naval Academy and the Naval Technical College to continue to provide training to the Cambodian Navy according to the above-mentioned unified targets.

Admiral Tea Sokha expressed his joy at visiting and working with the Vietnam People's Navy Command and sincerely thanked the Vietnam Navy for its solemn and thoughtful welcome to the delegation. The Commander of the Cambodian Navy also expressed his gratitude and deep appreciation for the selfless and pure assistance and sacrifice of Vietnamese volunteers and experts who helped Cambodia liberate the country from the previous genocidal regime. Admiral Tea Sokha wished to continue to maintain effective and practical cooperation activities.

That same evening, the Commander of the Vietnam Navy held a reception.

On the occasion of the visit, the delegation of senior Cambodian Navy officers visited Brigade 679, Region 1 and visited a number of historical sites in Hai Phong and Hanoi.
