Recently, the World Football Federation (FIFA) announced the referee team for the match between the Vietnamese and US women's teams in Group E of the 2023 World Cup.

Surprised by the main job of the referee of the match between Vietnam women's team and the US

Referee Karboubi will officiate the match between the Vietnamese and US women's teams.

Specifically, the main referee is Mrs. Bouchra Karboubi. The two female assistants are Fatiha Jermoumi and Soukaina Hamdi, both of Moroccan nationality. The fourth referee is Mrs. Ivana Martincic, from Costa Rica.

Among these, Mrs. Bouchra Karboubi is the most notable.

The 35-year-old female referee is seen as a symbol in the fight for gender equality in Morocco.

In May 2022, Ms. Karoubi became the first female referee in Moroccan history to officiate in the National Cup final.

After those events, the starting goalkeeper in the opening match of the Vietnamese women's team at the 2023 World Cup was nicknamed "The Pioneer" or "The Pride of Morocco".

Ms. Bouchra Karboubi became a FIFA referee in 2016 and in 2018 began to be assigned to matches at the African women's tournament.

In 2022, the Moroccan referee attended the CAN final between Senegal and Egypt as a member of the refereeing team.

Notably, in addition to being a referee, Ms. Bouchra Karboubi is also a police officer in Meknes province.

Talking about this, the 35-year-old woman said: “I had a dream of becoming a police officer when I was just a child.

I want to become a police officer. I'm happy that I can fulfill my childhood dream and build a career as a referee at the same time."

According to the schedule, the match between the Vietnamese and US women's teams in Group E of the 2023 World Cup will take place at 8:00 a.m. on July 22.
