Young man arrested for transporting 18,000 drug pills

On December 1, Dakrong District Police, Quang Tri Province, said they coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the provincial police and the Drug Control and Prevention Team of the provincial Customs Department to arrest a young man who was transporting 18,000 synthetic drug pills.

Accordingly, at 9:40 a.m. on December 1, at Km 66+950 National Highway 9, Quang Tri province, the police and customs forces coordinated to catch Ho Vay (20 years old, residing in Ban Pa Lo, Noong district, Savannakhet province, Laos) illegally transporting drugs.

At the scene, authorities seized evidence including 18,000 synthetic drug pills, 1 motorbike, 1 mobile phone and 3,200 Lao kip.

During the investigation, Vay confessed to transporting the above drugs from Savannakhet province, Laos across the border to Khe Sanh town, Huong Hoa district. Vay transported these drugs for hire to get paid.

After completing the initial records, the evidence and the subject were transferred to the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Quang Tri Provincial Police for investigation and handling according to regulations.

Previously, at 9:27 p.m. on November 18, at house number 166, Le The Tiet, Lao Bao town, Huong Hoa district, Lao Bao International Border Guard Station, Quang Tri coordinated with the police force to catch Nguyen Duc Phap (residing in Lao Bao town) in possession of 4,750 drug pills and 1 kg of crystal meth.

After serving the indictment, Lao Bao International Border Guard Station transferred the case file to the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Tri Provincial Police for further handling according to its authority.
