Vote for 15 outstanding literary and artistic events in 2024

(To Quoc) - On the morning of December 27th, the Literature and Arts Times, in collaboration with the Vietnam Literature and Arts Creative Support Fund, organized the selection of 15 outstanding literary and artistic events of 2024.

Organizing the selection of the 15 outstanding literary and artistic events of 2024 is a particularly meaningful activity, not only to honor outstanding achievements in the field of literature and art, but also to provide an opportunity to recognize and evaluate the significant progress of the country's literature and art over the past year.

According to Dr. Doan Thanh No, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations , 2024 is the year when the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations and the central specialized Literature and Arts Associations (the Union and the Associations) will strive to successfully complete the tasks of the term, begin preparations for the new term's congress (2025-2030), and implement many major literature and arts programs and projects leading up to important national anniversaries. The Union and the Associations have been flexible and proactive in organizing and implementing many meaningful activities, contributing to motivating, promoting, and building the creative movement for artists nationwide.

"This is a valuable opportunity for the creative community to promote outstanding works and art events, while fostering the sustainable development of literature and art in social life. Through this selection process, we hope to awaken a sense of pride in the hearts of every artist and every art-loving citizen, and contribute to building a healthy, rich, and diverse literary and artistic environment that meets the increasingly high demands of the public," shared Dr. Doan Thanh No.

Mr. Hoang Du, Editor-in-Chief of the Literature and Arts Times, stated: "Through the selection of outstanding events, we aim to evaluate the remarkable achievements of the Union and its affiliated associations; to reflect on a vibrant year of Vietnamese literature and art; and to promote the sustainable development of literature and art in the coming years. At the same time, we will strengthen the dissemination and further spread of the values ​​that literature and art have achieved."

Dr. Doan Thanh No, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, delivered a speech at the Selection Ceremony.

"Preparations and nomination procedures have been implemented urgently in accordance with the issued regulations. The Organizing Committee has sent official letters requesting nominations for outstanding literary and artistic events in 2024 to units under the Union, 10 Central specialized literary and artistic associations, provincial and city literary and artistic associations, and the editorial offices of newspapers and magazines of literary and artistic associations. At the end of the nomination period, the Organizing Committee compiled the nominations, held meetings, voted, and selected 20 outstanding events to be submitted to the President of the Vietnam Union of Literary and Artistic Associations for approval," Mr. Hoang Du said.

The delegates cast their votes.

Based on these results, the Organizing Committee will solicit opinions to select 15 outstanding literary and artistic events of 2024, with the participation of representatives from central and provincial/city literary and artistic associations, artists, and journalists, reporters, and editors covering culture, literature, and art at central and local media agencies.

The list of 15 outstanding literary and artistic events of 2024 will be announced by the Organizing Committee on January 1, 2025.

A series of literary and artistic events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory; A series of literary and artistic events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army; The National Assembly approves the National Target Program on cultural development for the period 2025-2035; The 22nd Vietnam Poetry Day with the theme "The Harmony of the Nation"; A series of activities commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great cultural figure Nguyen Dinh Thi; The 2024 National Music and Dance Festival; The 2024 Golden Kite Film Awards; The remarkable release of the "state-produced" film " Peach, Pho and Piano"; Promoting Vietnamese tourism and cinema in the United States; The 2024 Hanoi International Film Festival; The 7th Young Artists Festival 2024; The 2024 ASEAN Graphic Arts Competition and Exhibition; The first National Theatre Arts Festival for children and teenagers. The photo and video contest "Happy Vietnam 2024"; the 3rd National Art Photography Contest and Exhibition "Proud of a Border Region" 2024; the National Architecture Student Festival; the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024; two television programs, "Brother Says Hi" and "Brother Overcomes Thousands of Obstacles"; and the "80 Years of Military Culture and Arts" exhibition.
