Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard organizes traditional meeting

On the afternoon of February 28th, the Party Committee and Command of the Thanh Hoa Border Guard organized a traditional gathering to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Border Guard's traditional day (March 3, 1959 – March 3, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Border Defense Day (March 3, 1989 – March 3, 2024).

Attending the meeting were comrade Dinh Tien Phong, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Commander of the Provincial Border Guard, Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association; comrades Commanders of the Provincial Border Guard, Commanders of departments and offices through the periods; representatives of the Liaison Board of the Provincial Border Guard Tradition Club and districts, towns and cities.

The Military Command of Hua Phan Province and the Security Command of Hua Phan Province (Laos) presented flowers to congratulate the Thanh Hoa Border Guard.

Also attending the meeting were Colonel Phan Si Xon Mi Xay, Political Commissar of the Hua Phan Provincial Military Command, Lieutenant Colonel Kham Lec Chan Su Li, Deputy Commander of the Hua Phan Provincial Security Command, and members of the two working delegations of the Military Command and the Security Command of Hua Phan Province (Laos).

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the 65-year tradition of building, fighting, and maturing of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard; and the outstanding activities of the Provincial Border Guard during the 65th anniversary of the Border Guard's traditional day and the 35th anniversary of the National Border Guard Day.

Colonel Do Ngoc Vinh, Provincial Party Committee member and Commander of Thanh Hoa Border Guard, informed the delegates about the unit's situation.

Also at the meeting, Colonel Do Ngoc Vinh, Provincial Party Committee member and Commander of the Provincial Border Guard, gave an overview of the results achieved by the Provincial Border Guard in performing the tasks of managing and protecting border security and sovereignty , building the Party and building the unit.

Cultural performances at the event.

In recent years, inheriting and promoting the tradition of the heroic unit, the Party Committee and the Provincial Border Guard Command have focused on leading and directing the synchronous implementation of border protection measures, building, managing, and firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security; building an increasingly strong and comprehensive unit, a typical model; and building a clean and strong Party organization.

Notably, it has maintained and promoted the core and specialized role in managing and protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security; presided over and ensured security, social order and safety in border areas and sea areas. Proactively advised local Party committees and authorities at all levels and closely coordinated with forces to grasp the situation, promptly handle incidents, and avoid being passive and surprised. Well implemented projects and plans to strengthen the border protection force, associated with socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, natural disaster prevention, search and rescue on the border and sea and island areas of the province. Actively participated with local Party committees and authorities in building and consolidating the political system at the grassroots level to become increasingly strong. Well done in grasping the situation, fighting and preventing crimes, especially drug crimes. Regularly exchanging information and updates, building a relationship of solidarity with the border protection forces of Laos; contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developing border.

The efforts of the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard have been recognized and highly appreciated by the Ministry of National Defense, the Border Guard Command, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, all levels, sectors and the People. Many collectives and individuals have been rewarded. In 2023, the Provincial Border Guard was awarded the Flag of the leading unit in the emulation movement to win by the Border Guard Command.
